A fantastic first day
I launched this Kickstarter last night, a short while before I went to bed and now that I'm getting ready to hit the hay again, I see we're at $21,261.66 . Which is incredible. :)
I am so grateful to you all. And it's really exciting to think that a lot of these fun "stretch goals" that felt so pie-in-the-sky to me two days ago now seem like they might actually be possible. In fact, three have already been unlocked!
A little earlier today I sent out a 24-hour voting link for the first two POWERS trading cards. (It looks like Kyle and The Annihilator are in the lead right now. We'll see if that lead holds by morning.) Since then, we've hit another stretch goal for the third POWERS card and the fourth POWERS card (which is triggered at $22,500) is now feeling well within reach. As soon as the first voting link expires later today (at 6:00 P.M. PST), I'll create a new voting link for any new unlocked cards (with the two winners from this round removed, of course.) So please be thinking about who you might want for that. (A bunch of folks have told me they are already pulling for for Commander and Spooky. ;) )
But also right on the horizon is our first 11" x 14" BONUS PRINT at $25,000 where you'll get to decide who you want to see featured in an exciting action scene, similar to the Save the Night print you can see on the Kickstarter page. And for that goal, we don't need to wait at all to send out a new voting link. I'll send it right out as soon as we hit that target.
And then at $30,000, things get really interesting because the ROMANCE trading cards get unlocked and you'll get to vote on which characters you want to see sexy pin-up art created for (along with the chance to learn all kinds of intimate details about that character's romantic interests.) When I created that stretch goal I figured we might come close to it towards the end of the 30 days. But now.... Well, let's just say that you've got me thinking about all the fun possibilities for the art there. And exactly what details would be fun to share. Just thinking about the work-in-progress updates I'd send to you all for those cards puts a big smile on my face. :)
Anyway, today was an absolutely wonderful day and it's all because of you. And it's just the first day and most people haven't even heard about this project! So, if it's not too much trouble, please take a few minutes to tell your friends about us on the Twitters and the Facebooks and the reddits and the Tumblrs. Two days ago, The Full Monty felt like it was a total longshot. But now...
One of my big writing heroes, Greg Rucka, ends all his Kickstarter updates with the phrase "Hold fast!" I probably should come up with something cool like that, too. But for now, I'll just sign off with how I feel, which is very, very grateful.
Thank you all so much for your amazing support!
