Signing Books With Winona (in pictures!)
So, I flew Winona into California from the East Coast this weekend. It was fantastic seeing her again in person and being able to finally show her the printed book. We worked all day both Saturday and Sunday to sign your books and I'm happy to say that we got them all done. And now I have pictures to show!
Here we are getting started Saturday morning:
This is the first time I've had to sign more than a few books at at time, so there was a bit of a learning curve. Should my swoop at the end be 1 inch or dare I go the full inch and a half?
By the beginning of the second day, we were totally hitting our groove:
Our inhuman stamina was completely fueled by bananas, orange juice and water. All you need really.
It is possible that after several hours of signing our names again and again and again we got just a little loopy.
But we were both very happy with the results. I hope you will be too!
It really was a lot (and I mean a lot) of fun.
So, where are we right now? Let's see here. 5000 books received. Check! Books signed. Check! Kickstarter database with your addresses downloaded. Check!
I've now handed off all the books to the mailing service and I'm told they should be sent out this upcoming weekend. Winona is still putting the final touches on the prints, so this mailing will be just for folks who aren't also getting a print—which is the vast majority, over 700 of you.
As for the two new prints (which will also be sent to everyone as computer wallpaper), Winona has been sending me preliminary sketches, so I should have something to show you there very soon. I really think you're going to find them worth the wait! :D
Anyway, that's it for now. Thank you as always for your amazing support. We're coming in to the finish line and the beautiful printed book you made possible will be in your hands shortly. Woot!
