About this project
We launched a our first Sign Painters Kickstarter project in May of 2012 and after it was funded on July 1st. We received a ton of emails about how people could purchase a sign, buy the DVD when its completed or even better, can we write a book? Teach workshops? As we near the end of our first Kickstarter, we thought it only made sense to launch a new Kickstarter to help fund a sign painters manual and develop sign painting workshops in Chicago.
Below you will learn more about the rewards which include actual hand painted signs, sign painted "inspired" shirts, a book, workshops and I will even FLY to you to hand letter your room, office, wall, windows or whatever you want that I can fit into the time frame allowed.
Take a look below and pick a reward that fits you best! Thank you for supporting the art of sign painting.
Sign painting is truly a lost art and thanks to backers of my first project, it has picked up steam in the Chicagoland area as I recently was interviewed by a local magazine. It has also spawned other interviews from all over the United States and kind words of encouragement from throughout the world. I only hope for the sign painting machine to pick up even more momentum and through this project, you can help me as I pass on decades of tricks from the sign painting trade.
Risks and challenges
Kickstarter is truly a unique way to do a creative project. And even though I have been lettering signs for over 40 years, it taught me a lot about what I can handle in terms of work load. I have designed the backer rewards this time around to deliver great looking hand painted signs to within a reasonable time frame. I have worked with my team (my sons) to research the best and most effective way to publish the Sign Painters Manual, silk screen some great looking t-shirts and develop a sign painting workshop that can help carry on the sign painting trade.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
