BILL SUPPORTS OPENSHOT
Just a note to report that BILL THE GALACTIC HERO is proud to support the open source OpenShot video editing system.
Though BILL will be shot on film and employ extensive use of models in the 2001/ICARUS XB1 tradition, it will be cut on a non-linear editing system and then subjected to all manner of digital visual effects (smoke, laser rays, supernovae, the Bloater Drive). In the past I've cut film, and edited with two software systems, Avid and Final Cut. But as one of our backers points out, OpenShot is also a sophisticated NLE, intended to run on all three platforms - GNU/Linux, Mac, and Windows. So why not support free software and - if it proves suitable - make OpenShot the editor of choice for BILL?
I've supported their Kickstarter campaign: if you go there you'll see that OpenShot have already reached their goal. No reason not to support them anyway. If you're interested in these things, you might enjoy the pleasure of installing and trying out a Linux desktop such as the excellent Mint.
