No one will be paid! All funds raised will be spent on the production, on travel to and from location, and food for the cast and crew. I will certainly share profits with the cast and crew, if there are any, but this is a labour of love and of experience, and is best regarded as a massive student film.
The DVDs will be multi-region (region 0) and should play in any player. I hope to make multi-region Blu-Rays, too, but if we run into any difficulties we'll make Blu-Rays for all three regions, A, B and C.
Because black and white is inherently very beautiful, and there is still 35mm Kodak monochrome stock. And labs still process it! But for how long? By backing this project, you are quite possibly making film history -- helping create the last of the black and white feature films.
The world premiere will be in Boulder, Colorado, under the auspices of the International Film Series. We will also have screenings in Los Angeles and New York. And, I hope, the film will play at international festivals thereafter.
My first preference would be at CU, where I currently teach production. But my priorities will always be to stay on schedule, to work with the finest student crew and cast I can, and to deliver the film on time, by December 2014.
