Tales from the Aletheian Society launched in May 2018 to critical acclaim, and launched the creative partnership of Shadow Factories (writers Jude Reid and Christopher Edwards) and we evolve (audio engineer and composer Stoo Goff) firmly into the world of indie audiodrama podcasting. Since then we've produced two full six part seasons (The Trials of Dr Cadwallader and A Parcel of Rogues), half a dozen minisodes and diverse expanded-world website content.
But we need your help for Season 3: Fearful Symmetries!
Tales is a zero budget show - no one gets paid for any of the hours of work they put in (though thanks to our patreon supporters we're saving up for new equipment) and we do all our recording in Stoo's spare room! And it works fine - it's lots of fun, but we know we could do better with proper studio recording. It would mean we could spend less time on trying to get clean takes and swapping between mics, and focus on putting in our best performances. It also frees up our sound engineer Stoo to give more attention to editing and assembling our episodes - all in all, a smoother, better, quicker process that will give a far superior end result in less time.
And what will we do with that time? Write and record more stuff!
Stretch goal time!
We've successfully funded our third series, so that means it's time for...stretch goals!
We've reached our target for our first and second stretch goals and the hitherto unheard Gillespie's Christmas Carol and Banj-o-shanter will be recorded and made available to our lovely Kickstarter and Patreon supports.
The target for our third stretch goal is £1000. If we reach this we will write and record a brand new minisode starring one of your favourite characters, rent an extra day in the studio to record three new Kickstarter minisodes and make all three available to all our Kickstarter and Patreon supporters.
Once we've hit that we'll tell you all about our plans for the £1250 and £1500 mark :)
Risks and challenges
Because we're an indie show, we're beholden to no one but ourselves and our backers, so we're only relying on ourselves to get this done.
When we meet our goal, the show will be made. The scripts are complete, the cast are on board and we have the experience of our last two seasons to draw on and the committment to see it through!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
