A watch lover appreciates a watch for the same reason a wine connoisseur appreciates a good vintage. He respects the many hours of painstaking labour that it took to create the watch in the first place, and he loves each complication, and each unique feature.
It has been said that you do not need a wristwatch in the modern age—unless you need to know what time it is somewhere else.
Meet the Alessandro Salvatore Worldtimer Automatic. Available in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold and Black. The DLC-Coated stainless-steel case is a hefty 50mm in diameter and water-resistant to 100 meters. It also has a soft iron inner case that protects the movement against magnetic fields. Alessandro Salvatore is on a mission to create a range of distinctive timepieces targeted at the discerning watch enthusiast.
Every time you look at your wrist, you are reminded just how small a world it is after all.
The Alessandro Salvatore Worldtimer is ready for whatever life throws its way. Are you?
It’s overstating things just slightly to claim that it’s your watch, which says the most about you, as at least one brand’s campaign has.
Truly a timeless accessory, the watch wields a significant amount of power in a small package. It doesn’t just tell the time of day, it can tell a lot about the person wearing it — from his personal style to his personality, priorities, and social status. No matter what watch you wear, and what wrist you wear it on, you’re making a statement about who you are and what’s important to you. A world time watch, for example...we hope you can imagine after seeing this complex and evocative beauty. Thank you for visiting and please support us so we can make the Alessandro Salvatore Worldtimer a reality.
The Alessandro Salvatore Worldtimer is powered by Swiss Automatic Self-Winding movement, hand-assembled from the finest material including an ebauche base of 192 Swiss parts that delivers an impressive 42-hour power reserve. This mechanical Low-temperature-coefficient alloy balance and spring self-winding movement comprises 21-jewels and oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
The watch is fitted with sapphire crystal with glare reduction on both sides, the most resistant crystal there is. The use of 316L stainless steel gives the watch the kind of deep quality polish that only come with high quality metal. The brushed stainless steel case is DLC-Coated to achieve a flawless Gold, Rose Gold or Black Finish. The automatic winding movement, also known as a self-winding or perpetual, winds itself by harnessing the movement of the wearer's wrist through the day, rather than having to be wound manually and in the Alessandro Salvatore Worldtimer it can be admired through the transparent case back. Achieving excellence without compromising the quality and artistic essence of traditional horology and with very nice details that one normally finds on more expensive brands.
In the early 1930s, nearly 50 years after Greenwich, England was established as the prime meridian of the world's 24 main time zones, Swiss watchmaker Louis Cottier created a mechanism to display them all on a single watch dial. It was first seen in 1937 on a unique piece by Patek Philippe, the ref. 515, a rectangular watch on display at the Patek Philippe Museum where you can go through the chronological spiral of the museum that illustrates the evolution of man's mastery of time-keeping through both the aesthetic and technical features of horology.
There a few watches that are as practical as a world timer, a watch able to give you in a single look at the dial the time of all the main cities around the world (and your local time too). In a world of growing globalization, these timepieces are now seen as extremely useful – but this was not the case when invented. This complication is credited to the famous watchmaker Louis Cottier.
The Alessandro Salvatore Worldtimer features an internal bezel using a peripheral 24-hour ring, which makes one full revolution a day to show local times across the world’s 24 time zones simultaneously. Two crowns are located on the right side of the case. One of the crowns is used to set the date & time and the other one is used to set the 24-hour disc. Thus, you can easily read your local time with the hands – on the central part of the dial – and read the time in all the major cities around the world on the World Time zone scale, thanks to the rotating ring displaying 24 hours’ time zones with day/night coloration, which makes it easy to determine at a glance where in the world it is daytime and where it is night, and can be set easily by using the 2 O’clock crown. The names of 24 world cities representing the global time zones appear on a city ring that surrounds the 24-hour ring. In addition to the world time function, the Alessandro Salvatore watch includes a date function.
The user sets the time-zone bezel to align their home time zone with the correct hour of the day on the 24-hour ring. As time passes, the 24-hour ring rotates. The point where the 24-hour ring lines up with the time zone you’re looking for shows you the hour of the day.
Very few watches are as practical as a world timer, a watch able to give you, in a single look at the dial, the time of all 24 time zones around the world and your local time too.
As you can see, the final design, prototyping and testing phases have been successfully completed and what remain are a few tweaks to the world time zones ring. This entails adding precise indices next to each city name and identifying the 30 & 45 minute offset time zones which would allow for precise World Time reading. We also has comments that the logo should be smaller and we agree so the logo will be refined to a line logo vs. block-letter and will be reduced dramatically and will take on the finish colour of the watch. We are so confident that you will love the final product that we are offering a 30-day return policy.

Risks and challenges
The Alessandro Salvatore World Time Watch is 2 years in the making and prior to this Kickstarter campaign and due to the complexity and high quality of the watch we've successfully completed critical milestones including fully working prototypes with the help of some talented and skilful master watchmakers in their own right. Our working prototypes have been rigorously tested and while there are a few small adjustments that need to be made, those remain are very minor adjustments and we are confident that we will meet or beat our projected delivery dates.
Creating and delivering a product is a complicated process with unexpected challenges but for the past 14 months we have worked tirelessly to assemble the team of manufacturing partners, hardware suppliers, tanneries and strap makers and put together contingency plans to overcome any unforeseen obstacles that may arise. As a seasoned designer, I have hundreds of successfully delivered projects and products under my belt and will use my over 10 years of hand-on experience in project management to deliver a flawless campaign.
We have set the delivery time in October of 2017 to ensure that all backers will receive their watches on time as promised. This delivery date will enable us to overcome any problems that might occur during manufacturing or delivery and we promise to keep you informed at all times. Our backers will be in the loop as we communicate updates at every stage of the process.
We will fulfil our promises and deliver watches that will exceed your expectations with beauty and quality so you can enjoy it, care for it and pass it on to the next generation and have created a warranty and 100% satisfaction guarantee to reflect such commitment to quality.
Our manufacturers stand ready to start production as soon as we meet our Kickstarter funding goal. Thank you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
