I am making an art photobook with over 100 brilliantly printed nude images, collectable card set, limited edition signed/numbered archival photographs, and a deluxe oversized portfolio album.
fotoEros is a fine art photography project celebrating sensual and aesthetic nudes. These artworks are intended for a mature, educated audience with an emphasis on quality over quantity. Although this collection will be stirring and occasionally too provocative for the mainstream, those looking for pornography will be disappointed with fotoEros.
I'm fascinated by the countless ways the body can be unapologetically sensual, yet balanced with an aesthetic. Not just a collection of beautiful body parts, the subjects are confident and unashamed. Every image has been photographed by me and painstakingly prepared and more than two dozen models are included.
The photobook has an artist's introductory essay explaining how's and why's of portraying sensuality through photography. The collection begins with moderate content and becomes progressively more provocative, with the boldest images at the end of the book.
Backer's receive never-before-seen images, autographed books, and exclusives.
Funds raised go towards additional shoots, compensating models, travel/logistics/supplies, and of course, printing and delivering the rewards to backers.
These are works in progress, I will continue to improve them, and keep adding new images until I have at least 100.
I can't show you everything here, so I created an additional page, with more images. You can also sign up for emails of non-public images.
I'm excited to have found a new printing vendor. This means better quality than previous books, with a lower environmental impact as well. The new specs are:
- Hardcover case binding, glossy full-color front/back covers
- 100 lb high quality gloss pages
- 8.5x11 inches/22x28 cm
- Softcover perfect-bound, glossy full-color front/back covers
- 80 lb quality gloss pages
- 8.5x11 inches/22x28 cm
- PDF download
- Resolution 200 dpi (1700x2200 pixels) sample
- Ebook also included in physical rewards of $100 or more
All three above formats contain:
- 100+ images, with many full-page images
- Introduction with artist's essay

This video helps explain the differences between photobooks and the two sizes of portfolio album (items in video are from previous projects):
Collectable gallery cards are 5x7 in/13x18 cm and printed on heavyweight 100 point glossy card stock. Each features an image from the project, backs have text with project and artist information. These are styled after cards used by art galleries. One in each shipment will be autographed. Ten images makes a set.
Limited Edition Archival Photographs
A few of the images from the books and album will be available as limited edition archival photographs. These are archival artworks, each limited to typically 5 or 10 in an edition, hand signed and numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. They are the same type of archival photographs I sell offer through curated art dealers such as Saatchi Art, 1st Dibs, and Zatista. Kickstarter backers get first opportunity at the editions from the fotoEros project.
See a few more examples here. You can choose your limited edition archival photograph from my existing work, or wait for new work from the fotoEros project.
There are three kinds of signature's you can receive in the rewards. One is my autograph, which will be on at least one item in every physical reward. Another is an artist signature on each limited edition photograph (the certificate of authenticity is signed, too.) But a new reward sweetener I've added is:
Model's autographed pages: Full-page photographs, on the same heavy semi-gloss stock as the hardcover photobook. 8.5x11 inches/22x28 cm, loose leaf. Included with every expanded edition, including combo rewards. Inserted inside the book for transport, autographed by the model. Choose your favorite from Hope, Buni, or Ava (limited quantities, preference will be based on amount pledged, then earliest pledged.)
Second model autographed page: Pledge at least $156 (Autograph Seeker package) and choose a second autographed page.
Two Dozen Models, Countless Hours of Work
I've collaborated with 24 models and shot at least 1,000 images of each to compile the raw materials for this project. We've worked tirelessly through long shoots to craft interesting poses, lighting, and expressions. We want to add character and personality to depictions of the body. I've spent months combing through these images to select the best ones. After that, I've stylized each to my personal blend of colors and compositional elements.
All backers will be thanked by name on my website. Higher-level rewards include acknowledgement in the printed books. You can, of course, choose to be anonymous.

Artist Background and Process
I have a B.A. degree in art and am trained in painting, drawing, and photography. My process uses my background in traditional media such as oil painting for an unorthodox approach to color. I am sorting through photo sessions with dozens of models, each with hundreds of images. I will select the very best and prepare them with an inexhaustible commitment to quality.
Funds raised will facilitate additional shoots, compensating models, buying props and backgrounds, as well as printing and packaging the rewards.
South Carolina Residents
South Carolina Residents, please add 6% sales tax. City of Charleston add 9% sales tax; Daniel Island 8%. Outside South Carolina, including overseas, no sales tax.
VAT, Import Duties
International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes collected by your local government after import. I can help you estimate these. Original artworks (photographs) are accompanied by import documents to request favorable rates. I can also use your FedEx or UPS account to expedite, please inquire.
Risks and challenges
This is a low-risk project. I've successfully completed a dozen Kickstarters. I've already produced enough new material to create this book. I have taken production time and the unknown into account when creating the schedule. I have a proven record of delivering on-time. Any delays will be to ensure quality; backers will be kept informed if anything isn't going as planned.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
