I am a photographer based in Charleston SC specializing in female nudes. My artwork is both exploratory and celebratory (More about that in my artist's statement.)
I am taking a trip to New York City in June. A friend of mine, a painter, mentioned he's going to NYC for the Whitney Museum Biennial exhibit. He invited me along to share a hotel room, cab from the airport and other expenses. We've done this trip many times before and it's a great adventure.
Despite having visited NYC several times, I've never done one of my art shoots there. It only makes sense because the city is full of models that fit what I'm looking for. So this time...
I'll spend two days shooting nudes in NYC.
I'll be shooting on rooftops and other interesting places the city has to offer. You may be surprised how many places you can do a nude shoot in a city. I've already been in touch with a numerous New York models to dream up ideas.
Rewards will be a very exclusive, backers-only digital reward photos from the shoots, downloaded or on flash-drive. I may also use this to test out Indiegogo's funding model.
Backers receive downloads of the pre-public photos. They are among the best, but not fully edited. You'll see a lot of frames that never end up published. I am also making a hard-copy portfolio for top-end backers. A few of the images will receive hours of attention and finally become limited editions. Others will remain backer-only exclusives.
Here are some examples of my previous adventures in Charlotte North Carolina, San Francisco California, and various other cities.
Hand-picked images, before the public sees them, and some will be exclusive to backers. Downloaded digitally for delivery as soon as they are announced. Resolution will be similar to my ebooks (8.5x11 inches 200 ppi, about 700KB each). Optionally delivered on flashdrive.

No detail is spared: heavyweight end sheets, hardcover, and glossy photo dust-jacket with end flaps. Printed in the USA using the highest caliber methods.
Behind the Scenes
I will provide a few exclusive glimpses of the journey and shoots via video. The purpose of this is to feed intellectual curiosity; this video will be neither explicit nor prudish. I am even going to try and do a little bit of live video (pre/post-shoot.) This is one of the privileges of backing a small project; the video will not be marketed to the public.

Archival photographs are hand signed, numbered, and made with the best quality inks on heavyweight museum-grade paper. Beautiful and long-lasting, this premium process produces exceptional contrast and crisp images. Properly displayed, the artwork will last without noticeable fading or change in color for generations (well over 100 years). A certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist, is included.
Variety & Creativity
The key to this project will be to work with several models (conservatively, three or four, maybe more) and at least two locations. I don't shoot photographs just to catalog what people look like. We bring together a ton of creative energy to produce a unique images, ones you keep looking at and that will stick in your mind.
NYC Photo Update
Hey everybody! I finished the shoot last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I photographed seven models in ten locations. Here is just a preview of what we shot. There are over 7,000 images and it will take a time to finish them.
Risks and challenges
There is very low risk. I've already pulled together most of the funds needed for this project and will pay for any shortfall out of pocket; this is why the funding goal is modest. Travel and models have been booked and shooting will be complete before this Kickstarter ends. Rain or shine, this will happen! I have successfully delivered on several similar Kickstarters.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
