Thank you so much for your generous pledges and kind support, but I have decided to cancel the "Through the Fire" project here on Kickstarter. This was a fun and exciting experiment for me with social funding and a way to get all of you involved in some of the things I'm working on. Even though we did not have the result we would have liked, your participation means the world to me. Things may not have been a success this time around but be sure to keep an eye out for other potential projects in the future. Thank you again!

Well, that's unfortunate. Of course, no path worth traveling is without its twists and turns. I hope that you keep advancing down this one and that you permit us to continue to join you. Take care.

Michael, greatly disappointed that your project didn't come to fruition. If you ever decide to restart the campaign I hope you keep a list these backers and contact us again. Even though my pledge wasn't necessarily huge, I would love to be involved again. The plotline sounded intriquing, don't give up on it or your fans!

Michael, sorry this didn't pan out for you. But, don't let this cancellation get the final say on your project. You always have the option to try again here on KS -- and if you do -- make sure you are more active with updates and engage more personally with your backers. Look at a project like this (it's a game but use the presentation more as a guide for successful KS projects: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidian/project-eternity
Perhaps if you setup live chats with your fellow Star Trek actors that would be a big help. You have a rabid ST fanbase to work with so you can get to $750k if it's done the right way. Best of luck.

      Shame. :(

I'll keep an eye out for any future projects you try though and will chip in a few quid that time too. Good luck in future. :)

It is indeed a shame this project didn't get the funding needed Michael, I for one will be looking out for your projects in the future and wish you the best of luck in your endeavours :)

I was very excited to see this project on Kickstarter and my heart sank when I realized a few weeks ago that Through the Fire probably wouldn't make the pledge goal. Thanks for the opportunity to contribute to one of your projects Mr. Dorn. I hope that other opportunities come along for fans like me to support you and possibly snag a signed photo. Thanks again.

I'm sorry this didn't happen. Hopefully, when it does, it will be that much better.

make sure to send out a message for the next project through here (regardless what venue it ends up being) otherwise i might miss the whole thing. i dont use twitter nor facebook, and ive never been to a convention. many projects get relaunched and are more successful the 2nd time around, it might be the timing in the year or the buzz from part 1 makes it more successful, keep experimenting.

i always love seeing my star trek heroes on other shows: Earth Final Conflict, Gargoyles, Andromeda, Leverage, Heroes, Stargate, the Big Bang Theory, and even tons of voice acting in videogames. im sure there are bunches of others as well, but the fact remains im still interested in whatever this project evolves into.

like many of the other posters had stated in the comments section if there is to be a relaunch maybe time it with some of the big Star Trek conventions, to get some more hype going. And more updates if on KS with a relaunch, those really help up interest especially when forwarding links to potentially like-minded friends.

i stumbled upon this kickstarter from Shadowrun KSs, then searching out Space video games on here, then Star Trek after seeing the Star Trek pinball KS.

      good luck with the projects!

Sorry it didn't work out this time. It was a really good idea (both the film and the use of Kickstarter.) Hope you'll keep us posted on future projects.

Dig in and start another project!
Thanks for the chance to be a part of this, sorry it didn't come together. You're all gifted actors and I'm looking forward to seeing the next roles you take on.
If you give KickStarter another shot, count me in.

Very disappointing that Trekkies and Trekkers! didn't show up in the numbers they should have I was really hopeing for this to work out. But there are other means of getting movies made! Good luck on your sure-to-be successful future in the business! Thanks for the opportunity to give back to a few of the people that made a series so great and changed people's lives :D

I was hoping to see this. Hopefully the film gets made through other means. Will keep an eye and ear out for future projects!
