Spatial-Flux is a Rogue-like adventure game in space. Utilising high resolution backgrounds and pixel art to create a unique experience for the player.

With your help I can continue to develop the game; pay for software licenses increase the amount of graphical assets and pay for a musical score.

My goals for the game are simple and direct...
To build a game with the aid of the community with hundreds of events to explore and to then provide free updates after release.

I estimate that the development time for the core game should take roughly nine months with a Kickstarter only beta period of two-three months where you will be able to help add more content and balance the game.

Reaching our goal will allow me to pay for art assets and software licenses so that I can complete the core gameplay for the Artemis Ship, which will include multiple storylines, hundreds of text events and decisions to make each playthrough a different and interesting experience.

Initially I will be releasing the game on PC, however once released I will then be porting the game to Mac, Linux and some mobile platforms as well.

If we exceed the £2000 goal then the additional funds will be used to speed the production process and include additional cut scenes, animated cinematics and also to bring a studio in to develop a larger soundtrack.

The initial gameplay I am developing is that of a Rogue-like text adventure. You will command a vessel and your decisions will shape the storyline and events you encounter and whether it leads to success or destruction.

During the game you will have to shuffle various different resources to keep your ship running and the crew alive including; food, energy, flux, credits, materials, crew morale, crew enthusiasm and the ships hull strength.

As these fall they will begin to effect the way your crew functions and may impact on the events you encounter and how the storyline unfolds. Keep your crew happy and they will risk their lives for you, don't and risk mutiny.

You will encounter new vessels on your travels, be able to retrofit your current vessel or maybe steal an enemies. Multiple decisions will need to be made regularly and any event could be the last one for your crew.

The core game will be developed first, once complete we will be able to launch the game for beta testing and then onto a full release.

It is our aim to have the community help provide content for the game, giving us ideas on events, alien races, sectors and technology for inclusion. All of which will be added to the game as free updates.

Buko Studios will be working with us to create the perfect art style for the game, ensuring we have top quality assets throughout the project.

Forte Sounds Ltd will now be working with us to create the Spatial Flux soundtrack and general ambience of the game to ensure it has just the right atmosphere in the different sectors of the galaxy.

Risks and challenges

The game is in alpha, the main challenge now is to add all the content to the game. The funding I receive via this campaign will allow me to contract in musicians and artists to help make the game shine, pay for appropriate software licenses and allow me to focus on coding the game, ironing out the bugs and adding as much content as possible ready for release.
