Any open exemple of machines built with that?

    2. Creator Dennis Baremans on June 20, 2013

      Hi AJ,

any news on the hardware kit?
Would love to buy / back this!

      Regards Dennis

    3. Creator Frode on April 13, 2013

Wow, got my kit today and man is it good. Not only is it 10 times as professional as I expected when I backed this project, but it is far better in so many ways that I have just lost all my words.

Thank you for this awesome delivery, it far exceeds any of my wildest dreams.

Now, I'll have to figure out what else I need from your webshop.

    4. Creator AJ Quick on March 26, 2013

We only have 4 kits left to ship! And two of those are from backers that made special arrangements. This project will be officially finished soon. Unfortunately a lot of the international backers had their kits shipped at an expense as high as $120 each. USPS raised their rates (A LOT) two months ago. We of course are paying the difference out of our own pocket. I may still post an update talking about the costs and challenges of this project, as was requested by a few backers.

    5. Creator AJ Quick on March 23, 2013

Yes. You will get a tracking number in a private message here on Kickstarter.

    6. Creator Brogan Murphy on March 23, 2013

Also Is there a tracking number for international backers so i can find out exactly where my package is ?

      Cheers

    7. Creator AJ Quick on March 20, 2013

We should have all remaining rewards shipped in the next few days.

    8. Creator Brogan Murphy on March 19, 2013

When should international backers expect there's to arrive ?

    9. Creator Yao on March 14, 2013

      Good news

    10. Creator Michael on March 13, 2013

      Hey Aj,

The parts look fantastic, they surpassed all of my expectations! I mounted a NEMA23 motor to the the Z-axis and have been playing with it. I have a few questions about additional hardware.
Do you still recommend the hardened steel rods '6061K' from McMaster-Carr? What would be the longest length of rod that could/should be used? What size drive screw do you recommend using (you have a McMaster-Carr part number) with the nut holders?

      Thanks,
      Mike

    11. Creator AJ Quick on March 13, 2013

Only about 15 left to go!

    12. Creator AJ Quick on March 8, 2013

More orders went out yesterday. We hope to have another tier tackled today. Hopefully to be completely finished by Monday or Tuesday of next week!

    13. Creator AJ Quick on March 5, 2013

We're currently working to re-write our shopping cart system, but will try to get those items added to the site soon. We are determining how many items will be left over now as we figure out what backers haven't been mailed their rewards yet.

    14. Creator Mathieu Lamaure on March 5, 2013

      Hi AJ,

I received my building blocks yesterday. It really look great. I can't wait to get to work.
However, my design requires 4 more shaft holders and 4 more sliders. will those be available in your store anytime soon?

      Thanks again for your project.

      M

    15. Creator AJ Quick on March 3, 2013

Frode, I appreciate the gesture... but as I have noted in a past update. This project was never about making money. In fact given the costs of the original project (the injection molds) each $150 kit was going to cost me approximately $400+ when you factor in the cost of the molds. I was paying for the injection molds out of my own pocket and based cost only off of the costs of the final injection molded parts. These new aluminum parts easily cost me approx $200 for each $150 kit. But that extra $50 is going to come out of my pocket. It doesn't even include the money I lost on the injection molds. It isn't fair to have any backers pay more for any reason (aside from unpaid shipping). This is my firm belief, and I've even written about it in an article about Kickstarter on the Daily Tekk: http://dailytekk.com/2012/07/30/how-to-get-funded-on-kickstarter-and-then-some/

    16. Creator Frode on March 2, 2013

For reference, if you didn't see my earlier comment in one of the updates, I think the added value you put into this by the awsome aluminium upgrades should be reflected in the pledge levels, so if there is another mean of paying you more I would gladely use it. It's not fair that you should bear the cost of all this alone.

The thing is that the point of kickstarter projects are supposed to help people kick off their projects, but I'm not sure I was helping you much if you had to send out the rewards that was more expensive to produce than we paid for. Well, maybe not my pledge level $500 though, but anyway.

Please PM me payment instructions and I'll try to help you with the development cost.

    17. Creator Frode on February 28, 2013

AJ, you have a deep aura of respect completing this project given that you are loosing money on the pledges.

    18. Creator AJ Quick on February 28, 2013

      The ACME nuts are in!

We will be working on a hardware kit soon. We must ship the other backer's blocks first.

    19. Creator Dennis Baremans on February 27, 2013

Just received the building blocks, looking great!!!

Any idea when you will have more info regarding the machine kit mentioned in the letter?
I would be truly interested in a hardware only kit (I already have the electronics), as I'm less adventurous ;)

    20. Creator Pascal on February 27, 2013

      Hey AJ,

Are all the ACME nuts in yet?

    21. Creator AJ Quick on February 18, 2013

We just got more ACME nuts in on Friday. So shipping will resume tomorrow (today is a postal holiday). We are still waiting on the other half of the ACME nuts though, which should be in at the end of the week. Some orders won't be able to go out until that shipment is in though.

    22. Creator PJ on February 15, 2013

I was just asking, I wasn't trying to call you out, I just wanted to make sure you saw my message.

    23. Creator AJ Quick on February 14, 2013

Please read and reply to the message I sent you earlier today. This is a unique occurrence and does not need to be handled publicly.

    24. Creator PJ on February 14, 2013

I recieved my parts however my Z-axis was damaged. It's a cosmetic thing but I would rather not have a dented dimple on the end of my brand new Z-axis. How will you be handling replacements?

    25. Creator -ing on February 12, 2013

Congratulations on shipping! It's been a long road... but the parts look really good!

    26. Creator AJ Quick on February 10, 2013

      Glad you like them.

Many of them have already shipped, with many more going out tomorrow and the rest of the week!

    27. Creator Eli Curtz on February 8, 2013

It's here! It looks great. Congratulations on getting through all the trials.

    28. Creator Clayton on January 22, 2013

Great update and even better progress, thanks for posting!

    29. Creator AJ Quick on December 31, 2012

Happy New Year everyone. Reminder, this is the last day to get Mach3 at the lower bundled price: http://www.aquickcnc.com/store/mach3-cnc-control-software/ (For backers ONLY!)

    30. Creator John Killian on December 11, 2012

Well folks welcome to the world of manufacturing where Murphy is king and things go wrong. I have backed 5 projects and they all had some kind of problem that caused delays in delivery. I know AJ is trying to get this corrected as fast as he can. There is as unpreventable stress generated by situations like this and I am certain AJ is having no fun wrestling with the hiccup in his plans. AJ go local if new molds are to be made. There is no better way to learn than just talking with an experienced person. A lot of thinking helped by experience goes into making a mold and talking person to person helps getting the needs right. I am looking forward to a excellent product. Seasons Greetings. John

    31. Creator Mike on December 9, 2012

I appreciate the update and AQuick's commitment to delivering a quality product, please keep the updates a little more regular even if it's just to say no news. At this point another 1-2 months is fine, I vote molds with either company since part of my purchase/investment in this project was to get a low cost CNC machines for the masses (and me!). What was the point of the kickstarter project if you don't get the molds?

    32. Creator AJ Quick on December 5, 2012

I absolutely understand the importance of getting that timeline out to backers. As I recently posted in the Update #23's comment section. We are working on finalizing new details and changes. Until the time comes that those details are finalized (in the next few days hopefully), it would be premature to post any information on a revised timeline.

    33. Creator Cole Berglind on December 4, 2012

I understand the importance of manufacturing them to the highest standards and am excited to be a part of this project; however it’s upsetting to have $200 tied up in my hobby and not see the rewards of backing CNC Building Blocks until 6 months after initial expectations.

What is the current timeline backers can work around?

    34. Creator Dexter Andrada on November 8, 2012

      Hi AJ,
How is your development going? We are excited to see the finish line.
      Cheers :-)

    35. Creator AJ Quick on November 2, 2012

@Chris. There will be an update soon. We hope to finish them up over the weekend. Spent all week soldering 400 indinvidual ribbon cables for the motor hook ups.

    36. Creator Chris Kopp on November 2, 2012

How are the electronics packages coming?

    37. Creator AJ Quick on September 27, 2012

@Brian. We're working on finishing up the ready to run electronics packages this week. Once they are done we'll be posting an update with video in action. The CNC Building Blocks are still being tweaked at the injection molder as per the last update. They are supposed to give us an update (perhaps even some test parts) this week.

    38. Creator fmotta on September 26, 2012

Since it seems that AJ responds sparingly and generally seems to only address "squeeky wheel" rather than preemptively I am doubtful that he even reads this...

But, it has been nearly a month since the last aperiodic response (I refrain from callin them updates due to the lack of definitive or usable additional information).

So, here I am flapping my keys in the wind asking the absent project developer for a crumb from his table of information in the form of an update with some inclusion of projected delivery in the form of a date in the future preferably applying the Gregorian calendar format.

    39. Creator Brian Connelly on September 26, 2012

      Any new updates ?

    40. Creator AJ Quick on August 27, 2012

Good news guys. We got the latest parts and for the most part they all check out! We just have to discuss a few things with our manufactuer and then we'll have more information. Hopefully we'll know more in the next week.

    41. Creator Michael on August 23, 2012

      Thanks for the update AJ.

    42. Creator AJ Quick on August 23, 2012

@Mike, new production samples were shipped and should be here hopefully today or tomorrow.

    43. Creator Michael on August 23, 2012

      Hey AJ,

      Any update on this project?

      Thanks,
      Mike

    44. Creator AJ Quick on August 14, 2012

All the changes have been made and the new production samples are in the mail! We should get them in about 1-2 weeks.

    45. Creator AJ Quick on July 31, 2012

We have a thread dedicated to posting machine ideas here: http://www.aquickcnc.com/forums/viewtopic.php…

Feel free to add your own ideas and designs to the thread. Hopefully we'll all be able to work on the ideas together to develop them into inexpensive machines.

    46. Creator Trevor Stach on July 27, 2012

Hi, AJ. Well, the delay is disappointing, but I would rather have a delayed better quality product than a flawed product quickly. Having said that, I am hoping you will be able to compensate by providing the plans that you mentioned in the comments on the 13th, sooner rather than later.

    47. Creator Ed L on July 25, 2012

AJ No worries here . Im of the mindset myself, when its done when its done . I've got numerous KS backed projects going and take it {delays for a better product} par for the course . Which usually exceeds all expectations of original concept .Ed

    48. Creator AJ Quick on July 13, 2012

Trevor, Great idea! We'll have some posted on our website hopefully this weekend! http://www.aquickcnc.com/

    49. Creator Trevor Stach on July 13, 2012

While we are waiting for the blocks to ship, I was wondering if you could post a sample machine that could be built with the blocks. I am learning as fast as I can, but if I had a sample machine, I could better understand how to modify it for my needs. I looked to your previous machines on the website, but since these have some different componants and pieces, an updated plan would help me immensely. Thanks.

    50. Creator Michael on July 12, 2012

@AJ - Please read your mail on Kickstarter. If that is not the right place to ask questions/requests, please let me know where I can send them to. Thanks, Mike
