ABOUT THE FILM
From Award-winning Director Joseph Kelly (Bloody Island, Community Service, Clown Motel) comes a new feature-length Horror-Comedy film. Clown Motel follows a group of Ghosthunters coming from an old ghost town and a bachelorette party returning home from Las Vegas. When the groups meet up by mistake, they must discover whether it is really abandoned or haunted by the souls of the clowns that once lived there?
**Remember, you do not get charged unless we meet our goal**
Director/Writer Joseph Kelly returns for his third feature film. This will be his most ambitious story to date. "IT" meets "Cabin in the woods" with a bloody splash of "Devil's Rejects: House of a 1000 Corpses". All filmed in ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION 4k! All Practical Effects. NO CGI. We're not clowning around with this production.
ACTOR Ari Lehman. Best known for his role in the classic horror film "Friday the 13th" 1980, where he played the first Jason Voorhees. Ari's band, "The First Jason" will help us make a "Clown Motel" theme song for the film's soundtrack.
ACTOR Tony Moran. Tony is best known for his role in the classic horror film, "Halloween" 1978, where he played the first Michael Myers EVER! Tony has been doing horror conventions ever since but has also acted in the films "BEG", "American Poltergeist" and "Death House".
Lead Actress Elinor Price. Elinor attended Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles. She has been working in Film, Television, and Theatre for the past decade. Elinor is the recipient of Best Actress award for her lead role in Wick in 2015 at the upstate New York Horror Film Festival. Other credits include - Murder U, Senior Skip Day, Cry, On Girls and The Shark. Elinor directed the Plays Barefoot in the Park and Fool For Love at the Capital Theatre Windsor Canada.
Production Jeffrey Reddick. Best known as the creator and writer of the "Final Destination" films. Jeffrey helped "Clown Motel" through the creative story development, adding great spooky elements to the script! No flying roller coasters in this film though. Check the "Bloody Island" film for that.
Returning executive producer is Robert Wichman. Rob has worked on Upstate NY features, including "Sophomore" with Patrick Warburton and "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry" with Gavin MacLeod. He also helped Joseph, as an assistant director, in both the award-winning films, Community Service, Bloody Island and the short Clown Motel.
Returning executive producer is Dave Bailey. Joe and David met in Louisville at Fright Night, where both were screening their award-winning films. They hit it off and immediately started planning to collaborate on the Clown Motel short the following year. David has been in the entertainment business since the early 2000's working on shows such as Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica as well as MTV's The Osbournes, Monster in my Family, L.A. Clippers Dance Squad and most recently Lifeline on Youtube Red. He has also produced several short horror films he intends to turn into an anthology in the vein of Trilogy of Terror.
Years before the remake of "IT" or the coulrophobic news reports, Director Joseph Kelly and Producer Dave Bailey stumbled upon the actual Clown Motel while traveling across the country to a film festival. They loved the atmosphere so much they decided to make a movie based on this haunted town including true sightings of clowns, the goldmine fire, the town population of the lost souls and so much more. In 2015, they produced a short film version of the story that Joseph directed. The response from the horror community was so strong, it helped garner the initial down-payment investment to make the feature film.

Where Does The Money Go?
Even though our minimum goal of $50k from Kickstarter is a good chunk of money, when you're talking big studio horror features, it's still considered a micro-budget film. Even if we make our last stretch goal, "Fingers crossed", we'll still be producing this film for less than 1% of what it cost to make the 2017 version of "IT". Yeah, that's crazy!
Your support will help us pay for equipment rental, 20-25 cast and crew salaries, travel & lodging, Locations (Check above at the beatuiful scenery!) costumes, practical effects, sound editing, post-production, etc. This is a labor of love, but the more money we're able to raise, the more we'll be able to put up on the screen for you, our backers.
For those interested in Producer and Executive Producer, line budget and a script can be furnished upon request.

Risks and challenges
The Unique Challenges that might arise after our film project "Clown Motel - Spirit's Arise" is successfully funded, would be having a tight post-production schedule including Edits, Color Correction, Music, audio mix in time for the fall 2018 film festival circuits. To overcome this, we will make sure to work at a steady pace and set due dates for ourselves. With the Kickstarter funded, it gives us less to worry about and more time to focus on the movie!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
