BONUS $750 STRETCH GOAL ANNOUNCED!
All backers at $5 or higher will get a digital copy of the never before collected "Doomtown" novelette! The mean streets of Detroit get a whole lot meaner after supernatural destruction tears the city to shreds! Now the survivors have to eke out a living as a war for power draws super powered beings from around the world!
"Doomtown" has ties to future Lightweight stories!
Just over a year ago with the help of Kickstarter, I made the first year of the superhero prose fiction project Lightweight a reality. But the novels Lightweight: Senior Year and Lightweight: Black Death were just the beginning of the adventures of Kevin Mathis, the young man inside the Lightweight costume.
Now Lightweight has found himself lost on the alien world of Nill, unsure how he arrived and unsure how to get back home to Earth. He is stuck in the middle of a three way war for supremacy of the planet, even as outside forces seek to take his power for their own. Prepare for the rise of a new major threat to Kevin and the entire universe as the Grand Magister makes his presence known.
While Lightweight is busy in space, that doesn't mean we lose his friends. Millie and Andy are back as they struggle to keep the legend of Lightweight alive even as they try to solve the mystery of Kevin's disappearance. But their own lives come in the way of their quest as Millie deals with the ramifications of lost love and Andy must figure out his place in the world free of the sect that raised him. But despite their fragile peace with one another, Millie and Andy will have to work together if they want to unravel the mystery of the Golden Age Lightweight!
Lightweight: Black Death continues the amazing adventures of the gravity-defying hero of super powered prose while also serving to be new reader friendly. Readers can start right here or order the full series of books without worrying about missing half the story.
Two Kickstarters have taught me how to tightly budget my projects on the site. $600 is the minimum I need to ship rewards and pay my contributors, cover artist Brent Sprecher and editor Lisa Matthews Collins. That will fund only the first volume of the next year of releases. Stretch goals will unlock the next two volumes that will complete the second year of stories.
Free preview chapter offer!
We don't expect anyone that hasn't read Lightweight before to buy in without any preview of the book. Because of this we are glad to present Lightweight: Dreams free on Smashwords for the length of this campaign.
The following add-ons are available to anyone who purchases any print release above.
$8 = Get a copy of Lightweight: Senior Year or Lightweight: Black Death added to your order. You can add multiple copies if you prefer.
$10 = Get an extra copy of Lightweight: Beyond or any stretch goal releases. Multiple copies can be added this way.
$25 = Get an extra t-shirt featuring the Lightweight logo! Due to international shipping restrictions this reward can only be added for United States customers.
To get an add-on just include the extra amount of the items listed above to your reward level. When surveys are issued after funding ends, we will request any information about additional add-ons.

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk for this Kickstarter is the already commissioned and in the works cover for the third volume of Lightweight. I will foot the bill for it one way or another, but a delay in that payment will mean a longer delay in producing Lightweight.
I am already well into the first volume and editor Lisa Matthews Collins has already started her work. Cover artist Brent Sprecher should deliver the next cover around the end of this Kickstarter. Barring sickness or injury, we should all be done in plenty of time to make the November deadline for the next volume. Unlocked stretch goals will have later ship dates based on their plan release schedule.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
