The mandatory (final?) Mega Update loaded with tons of goodies!
The time has come — only a few hours left. It’s been a hectic month, and I can’t remember what was that thing humans use to call “sleep”, but I’m already missing it. A wild ride indeed, with well over 3000 backers, 112% funded (thus making the iPad port a reality!), and the craziest comments section of any Kickstarter surpassing 7500 posts. Wow! I’m truly speechless. While there’s the chance that we might reach another stretch goal, it doesn’t matter. This is already a huge success for us.
But let’s cut to the chase because this is going to be a long update:
First, quick overview of the remaining rewards:
All backers will have a say in their biography and can work closely with us until they’re satisfied. Also, remember that you can review other rewards in our previous update.
Another highly requested reveal: samples of the music in Asylum. I prepared this short medley of the work Daniel and his minions have done for the game so far. It’s an early approach, though — the majority of the tunes are moody, ambient pieces so that they're appropriate for most parts of Hanwell. However, Daniel is already devising new tracks with more distinct melodies that will blend perfectly with critical and very emotional sequences in the game. That said, this short sample should be enough to give you goosebumps:
Yeah. I’ve listened to that a thousand times already and it always gives me goosebumps.
Inside The Box
Finally, I promised I would reveal our plans for the contents of the box. We want to include “feelies”, or physical extras. After some calculations, I decided we can include three blueprints of the game. These will aid you when navigating Hanwell, but they’re not mandatory as they’re also included in-game. But, our plan is to include beautiful printed copies that will look pretty much like this:
We have shown all three in todays live stream. The basement is smaller and a blueprint would be spoiler-y, so that one won’t be included.
Then, we’re going to add a Visitor card to the box. Similar to the ones featured on the project page:
And we have plans for yet another feelie, but we need more time to confirm it. Still, this should be enough to whet your appetite for the box!
Oh: by popular demand we’ll be adding a physical copy of A Tour of Hanwell documentary. This will be the main movie, though we foresee much more additional material that will be available digitally. Really, we’re nuts, but we’re committed to give you all of this from the $75 pledge onwards.
It had a very chaotic beginning and we experienced a few technical problems, but in the end it was a fun and very informative chat. We answered a lot of your questions. Here’s the fully recorded (over two hour long!) event:
And now, I need a break. And a Negroni. I’ll probably post a wrap-up before all of this is over! Thank you so much for being so very awesome people.
