Thanks for watching my video and giving me the chance to invite you to help. As an artist, I’m thrilled there’s a way for me to make you a part of my newest musical journey. The business of making music is reinventing itself and crowd-funding is as exciting for me as it is for you. I’m launching this Kickstarter Campaign for a couple of reasons – to generate funding for recording an extraordinary album and to connect directly with the people who love music enough to support its creation. And this was never going to be a project that a record label would support. But it’s not just about the money, (granted that’s a BIG deal) - it’s about staying creative and vital by embracing the new way to be creative.
My project has seven goals (1 through 7 by hitting the funding goal, and the last goal will be funded with a higher level of support):
1.Record the soundtrack album of Against Nature
2.Communicating updates throughout the fundraising and album making period, and offer some great rewards
3. Collaboration with fans
4.Capture and share exclusive footage of the soundtrack album for Against Nature as it is being recorded.
5.Manufacture digital download, CD and Limited Edition Vinyl of the album (for rewards).
6.Perform and film a workshop recital of the album in a London theatre in front of an audience (limited amount of tickets available in the rewards section).
7.Full marketing and release of the album
Why I am doing this?
I believe that the way music is made and shared has fundamentally changed. With the rise of Crowd Funding, I’ve realized that there is one more step to be taken towards the ultimate realization of an artist’s dream - direct connection with our audience!
What I’ll use the money for
I’m grateful for your support and promise complete transparency during the entire process. Basically, we plan to use your pledges to pay for creating, documenting, and distributing our new soundtrack album, Against Nature, and to film a recorded workshop performance of it in front of an invited audience ((this will be a live recital of the entire Against Nature album).
Specifically, we’ll be using the proceeds to:
• Fulfill Kickstarter rewards
• Compensate our co-producers, musicians, engineers, graphic designers, and the many other creative involved
• Rent studio time and equipment
• Travel to and from recording sessions
• Mastering and manufacturing of the album (Digital Download, CD and vinyl)
• Workshops and rehearsals in preparation for the filmed workshop performance
• Anything extra will go toward marketing/publicity at the end of this weird and wonderful experiment, we’ll have a soundtrack album and loads of exclusive behind the scenes footage to share with you, as well as a filmed workshop performance which leads to …
What you’ll get out of it
First and (I hope) foremost, you’ll get the satisfaction of helping independent artists, (yes, “Indie at any age!”) try new projects that you’ll be able to say, “finally! Somebody’s making music and performance for ME!” Secondly, you’ll be using your voice and your wallet to show that you are a valid audience that deserves a say in the music being made; however left field it may be.
Lastly - myself, Othon and Jeremy are also committed to engaging with our supporters through project updates, videos, social media interaction, and before/during the recording and filming proceedings. You can contribute as little as £10 (or as much as you’d like) – we’ve created a unique and exciting reward structure with VIP meet and greet, finished album listenings, watching the filming of the workshop performance and even the chance to have tea with us.
What more can I do?
What we need you to do
I can’t do this without your help. A pledge of any size today is greatly appreciated. But beyond that contribution, I ask that you help us publicize our campaign by posting updates about your support on social media - especially Facebook and Twitter. Just tell everyone you know and ask them to tell everyone else in the world. Your donation and participation makes you a part of the story just as much as we are.
Kickstarter only allows each individual to pledge for one reward so make sure you choose carefully.
Four years ago when Marc Almond first started developing ideas for Against Nature, he made some mood boards – visual notebooks with imagery, colour and influences in order to gain inspiration for the project, Against Nature. Marc’s works of art have been and will continue to be used as a reference point throughout the project. Marc has kindly offered to part ways with these mounted, framed and signed collages so that they can be given as rewards on Kickstarter. There are 3 mood boards in total and the first one (pictured below) is now on offer for £650 in the rewards section (each one will be the same price). Each collage will be signed by Marc Almond and framed. The dimensions are 2ft x 1ft 6" and each one is totally individual and exclusive.

It is intended that internationally acclaimed and world famous mime artist, dancer and choreographer, Lindsay Kemp, featured in the video below with Marc Almond, will take the role of the Green Fairy/Demon of Absinth in a video to accompany the musical album of Against Nature (once Kickstarter is complete). Lindsay is acclaimed not only for his own work, Flowers, Salome, Nijinsky, Mid-Summer Nights Dream amongst many others but also his work with The Ballet Rambert (The Parades Gone By) and Choreographer Christopher Bruce (Cruel Garden), David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust) and Kate Bush (The Red Shoes). Credits for this clip go to Nendie Pinto-Duschinsky.

Risks and challenges
This is an all or nothing project. If we don’t reach our financial target then we can’t pursue the project and all of the creative efforts inputted so far will regretfully go to waste.
The variables of the project are: venue, studio and musician availabilites.
All delivery dates are estimates are could be subject to change. Although we really hope they won't.
