Affray Studios, derived from various developers and communities joined together to make something that would be above the typical Indie game development in the SCP lore. We plan to have our official release on Steam. It will be free-to-play so everyone can enjoy it.
For those who aren't familar with the "SCP Foundation"
SCP is an acronym for "Special Containment Procedures". It is a community wiki based off of creating anomalies by describing them with "official" documents. Everything we will be doing in this game will be based heavily on this wiki and the anomalies. Here is a link for those who want to check it out.
Story & Gameplay
SCP: Ascension will be based on the stories of Project Ressurection and the fate of MTF Omega-7. In unexpected events, the world will be thrown into a broken timeline. In light of the situation, the 05 Council determine the only way to make the situation of their world better is not to fix it (due to the massive incapabilities), rather learn how to make sure it doesn't happen again. This is where Project Ascension is born. Faced with even further abnormal anomalies, you have to sustain the broken world before it only gets worse.
Your missions will not be in the foundation itself, you will be carrying on Project Ascension throughout the globe as Mobile Task Force Alpha-9. You will be in a recon team within Alpha-9, executing various missions. Only SCP-343 knows where you will end up...
The gamemodes we have planned will be based in Area 14 with Armed Mobile Task Force Nu-7 at it's disposal. Area 14 has been repurposed to be the most versatile site on the globe, due to it's massive paramilitary forces and it's isolation from the general populous.
Your objective in the game will not be linear, you can freely chose what you do at all times, so you can dictate the surrounding the world around you. Your actions will have consequences, whether be through the butterfly effect or tactical force.
The SCP anomalies will not be your only threat. There is always a possibility of an infiltration or raid by suspected Groups of Interest (GOI). The combination of anomalies and Groups of Interest will highly dictate what you need to prepare for, as well as your courses of action.
SCP: Ascension is a horror FPS set in a new light. It is meant to give the player a simulated experience on how it's like being an employee at the Foundation, and the horrors that it entails. You won't run bored in this game with typical "horror" mechanics, rather experience a spectrum of situations and feelings that will deliberately throw you off your guard. We will be focussing heavily on combat mechanics, vehicles (air, land, and sea), random world interactions, inventory, and much more to bring this game to life.
We will have several gamemodes, so you won't be stuck to just playing the story once you are through. There will be containment missions, protection operations, revamped classics, and much more.
We won't have static playermodels for humans, rather full customization to your own characters so you can truly immerse your personas into this world. All armor, clothing, weapons, and items will be equipable via the inventory with a weight limit. There will also be a hotbar for on-the-fly item swapping, so you won't be a waiting duck trying to find the keycard you found while being hunted down.
"When do you want to release the game?"
To be completely honest, the plan we have is pretty broad, and we are going to keep it that way for development security. Although, here is the rough outline we have set in place. Please note this is if we get funded, It may be much more delayed if otherwise.

We have chosen the Unreal Engine for our needs, due to it's massive capabilities over other free engines, it will be our edge on delivering amazing content. We also have chosen to work with Gamesparks, so multiplayer can be easily handled flawlessly. With these tools, merely anything is possible within our realm. Feel free to contact us if you want to contibute to the project in any way! We are always happy to have new team members!
We also intend to add mod support, so players can run their own servers and customize it to their liking via Steam Workshop, visual scripting, and map customization, so you can expand your own world into ours. We will also have a Pier-To-Pier (P2P) option for those who do not want a hassle of setting up a dedicated server.
Weapons are a necessity. You will need to kill, or be killed in the world of SCP. Items will come useful througout gameplay, whether it be medical supplies, armor, clothing, or even security clearance cards.
Explore the land around Area 14 faster and safer in these Light Armored Patrol Vehicles. Execute raids, containment measures on the anomalies, and even carry needed items like medical supplies and firepower. We have about 20 vehicles planned for final release, including aircrafts, amphibious vehicles, and unmanned vehicles.

Risks and challenges
Our main bottleneck is funding. You can't really get too far in development without funds to keep it afloat. That is why we chose to fund it through community interest. We also get most of our funds through jobs we have in our personal lives. The goal will just help us not have to save up for a longer period of time. The total development costs will be MUCH higher than the Kickstarter goal.
