It was Fall 2018 when we started planning for our first Kickstarter. We worked through many ideas before deciding to expand on our hugely successful Lily's Wetlands set. This set was made for the DungeonPrint community, and we had no small end of requests for expansion. At the same time, the number of sculptors expanded again when the incredibly talented Nasos Maloudis joined Aether Studios. Together we set ourselves to work on a fantastic swamp set for our friends, patrons, and community. And now we're ready to present our first Kickstarter, Swamp of Sorrows, to the RPG community. Beautifully crafted and richly detailed, this tile-set is a labor of love, and essential addition to terrain sets both for its use in traditional swamps settings and mixed with other terrains. We all know the pains of having to setup prints, so we stand committed to make everything as print friendly as possible. Every design has at its core a promise: No slicer supports required. Everything you see here has been designed for the 28-32mm scale, with both tile and scatter options wherever possible.
PLEASE NOTE - This Kickstarter is for digital files (STLs) to make all these items on your own home 3D printer - these are not physical goods **
Check out all the images on imigur of the prints and keep up to date as we keep adding more to the gallery as the kick starter moves forward. Click here for photos!
No. Slicer. Supports. That is our promise to you. We hate slicer support just as much as you do, and we know how much more satisfying it is to just load and print. All of the miniatures and models in this kickstarter are designed to print without slicer supports. Any and all supports are built into the model so you can spend more of your time printing and playing.
Inside this Swamp Rat Pack are 3 free promotion models for everyone to have. We hope you enjoy them in your games! Click the link or picture above to download them!

All terrain was tested using the Official FDG Cura Terrain profile for Ender 3/Ender 5. We recommend terrain prints at .1 to .2mm layer height with 10 percent infill.
Miniatures were tested using Official FDG Cura miniatures profile for Ender 3/Ender 5. Many thanks to Tom Tullis of Fat Dragon games for the hard work in crafting these printer profiles. You can find a link to the profiles with the print models.
Miniatures were additionally tested on Anycubic Photon, without slicer supports, at recommended settings straight on the build plate. Many of the painted miniatures you see are using this affordable and high quality Resin 3d printer.
Aether Studios was born from a love of RPG's and a deep passion for creating the terrain to bring worlds to life. In May 2018, Aether founding members Will Walker and Colin Christenson had just finished work on a dozen sets of terrain for the Fat Dragon Games Community Creator Program. We loved making worlds for our friends. We thrived on expanding their ideas for models. And when we began exploring our own concepts for terrain, the possibilities spawned hours of excitement in us as we created terrain and honed our craft. We knew it was going to be a long haul and we were blessed to have our friend Aaron Mulder of Dungeonprint join us as another talented remixer and administrative specialist. While it did not seem like we had much when we started, we had more than we needed. With just a few unpublished ideas and a small horde of friends and fans in the Fat Dragon Games Community, we exploded onto the 3D scene. Each time we managed to get a set published published, 5 more started production. Before we knew it we were breathing life into almost a dozen lines of terrain. That aether of life now in evident in the thousands of terrain models in our catalog. In just 1 year we've published 60 sets of terrain for our own label, 35 sets for the Fat Dragon Games Community Creator Program and a set for 3dPrintedTableTop's Lost Dragons Kickstarter. We've grown too, with Tia Norah serving as a primitive sculptor and dungeon master. Jacob Armour joined as a Detail Sculptor and took on a leadership role with the creation of many new, exciting and innovative terrain lines. Nasos Maloudis is the most recent addition to the team, with a resume full of work in the past for EC3D and many other projects. Aether Studios, now whole, strives to enhance your games with diverse terrain and miniatures that unlock your vision for your players. We are all DMs and players alike and we take pride in being a part of your game.

We are huge fans of the Dragonbite terrain base from Fat Dragon Games. Aether Studios wouldn't exist without generosity of Tom Tullis and Fat Dragon Games. We got our start making remixes under license for the amazing Community Creator program. This wonderful program allows amateur tile crafters to share their designs with the most passionate, wonderful, and handsome community ever formed: The Dragonlock and Dragonbite Facebook group.
Risks and challenges
Risks and Challenges - Aether Studios is a very small design collective. While our artists have published over 150 sets and worked on many Kickstarters before, we wanted to do everything in our power to make our first Kickstarter a certain success. We wanted to ensure we had all of the experience required before bringing our ideas to you. We needed to make sure we had all the talent required to do justice to our past projects. But most importantly: We demanded of ourselves to have all the core terrain and as much stretch pre-designed, tested, printed, and painted before launch. By being able to show the final product, we hope to mitigate the risks of such a huge project.
All core models are finished and test-printed. About half the stretch goals are finished and test printed. Stretch goals will be delivered after the core sets, as they are ready.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
