First, THANK YOU so much for taking the time to discover our game project and reading to find out more about what we are creating. We are happy to give you the chance to learn about our concepts and plans for this game, and to show you why it is worth your support! 

Our plans include ways that Memories of Aeldaria will be unique in how it approaches many aspects of play. Our planned story is deep and engaging.  We also plan to have sound that is perfectly crafted add to the immersive experience, the combat should be fun but will also include some unexpected twists, and the game will be visually sculpted to bring all of these elements together.

We debuted Memories of Aeldaria to the public during E3 week on the Square Enix Collective where we participated in a 30 day feedback stage. We are very proud of the results of this campaign as we won 86% of the total votes cast towards our premier title!

Memories of Aeldaria will be using a special content delivery schedule allowing us to bring the game to you soon, and in three stages. The game is divided into three Sagas that make up one entire experience. Saga I will aim to be delivered in winter 2016 with Saga II & III following each year thereafter. Each Saga will feature completely realized gameplay and a story for the ages. Saga II & III will be patched onto Saga I when they are distributed and the entire Saga will hold 1 continuous story. Using this method when the third Saga is complete we intend to only sell Memories of Aeldaria as 1 complete game.

Every year for three years you will journey through Aeldaria uncovering various secrets & lore, defeating mighty enemies, and choosing your path through interaction with our unique world and characters.

The story takes place in a shattered and mysterious kingdom in a distant universe in another time. While being drawn in by many elements that seem familiar you will be whisked away into another world as you journey deep into the history and world that sets the stage for Aeldaria. We have carefully sculpted centuries of deep history and lore to create a very rich and unique universe.

Helping us to build and refine this universe will be none other than the infamous Tracy Raye Hickman!

The clatter of pebbles down a cliff face, the feel of a breeze softly sweeping the dust off of her cheek, the smell of earth and a faint pleasant scent brought by the breeze. Where was she? What had happened? 

All she remembered was... a fall through nothingness and then a hard landing. Bouncing off of stone and tumbling down through the rushing sounds of rocks falling. And then here she was. And now came the sounds of soft footfalls coming closer and quiet whisperings..."

You will take control of this mysterious girl and venture into the Kingdom of Aeldaria: a war-torn and once mighty nation. While the Kingdom had settled many of its age old struggles, one of its darkest secrets that has laid in wait for a millennium is hellbent on carrying out it's vengeance. You will make new friends & encounter challenging enemies on your quest to discover your purpose, why you've lost your way, and what it will take to get it back.

Welcome to Memories of Aeldaria!

After you become familiar with gameplay the world opens out before you. Choose carefully, as many choices you make will affect the way the story unfolds. If you don't want to do a quest for an NPC (non-player character) that's your call, but every action can have a reaction. If you turn down the chance to help or decide to act against them, you may find that the NPC isn't as helpful as they were before.

As one might expect where choices of what you do or do not do affect reactions, some of your choices can modify how the game develops and ends. We have worked hard to create a diverse series of possible endings to this game, so choose wisely and well, otherwise you may just be a little too late and missing some essential help as the game story unwinds.

What good are a myriad choices in a safe environment?  After years of relative peace, there is much unrest.  The rumors of attack and invasion are sporadic and differ from telling to telling, but you can feel the tension in every teller's voice.  Something is happening; something unnatural, something unpleasant, and something that could make the dead the lucky ones.  Use all your wiles, your smarts, and your skills.  Adventures, treasures, and deeds that will live beyond your count of days are there for the taking, but only if you can avoid the Reaper.

Memories of Aeldaria will have a dynamic night & day cycle as well as an in-game calendar to track events that may only occur at certain days or times. You can get a glimpse of the difference between both in this video that also gives you a great look at the world of Aeldaria.

Throughout Aeldaria there will be hidden treasures, dangerous dungeons, and valuable items to find. Your cleverness and ability to figure out the various puzzles will yield exciting rewards that can assist you on your journey.

For the combat in Memories of Aeldaria, almost anyone who has played any of the variety of action-adventure titles out there can easily get the feel of combat. However, developing mastery of the combat and equipment is where true warriors begin to shine. You will have access to a basic combo of attacks when initializing combat and most normal / smaller enemies may be able to be taken on without a lot of trouble. However, when you start dealing with bigger baddies, mini-bosses, bosses, rare spawn monsters, and other such obstacles, this is where skill starts to take hold. Combat will have a focus on timing and mobility and the intelligent use of your equipment and items.

With use of one such item Isabelle will have access to a short range teleport which can be used for exploration purposes or for closing in on enemies. Some of our more advanced combat maneuvers involving timing will occur with subtle visual cues. 

For example: You see the enemy preparing to swing their blade and you time a block just perfectly. When this occurs you will see the block button flash and glow faintly for an instant. Pressing the shield button swiftly in this moment will have Isabelle bash the enemies with the equipped shield causing them to be stunned or maybe even disarmed (if applicable). 

Let's take this a step farther: When an enemy is stunned your warping item will glow for a brief moment resulting in warping directly behind your foe and Isabelle can then quickly activate a special attack while they are off guard resulting in massive damage! This attack will also vary based on the enemy type you are fighting!

There will be multiple weapons in the game to unlock, as well as armor upgrades to improve your defense. All stats will be scale-able via items or quests and if we get to our reach goals crafting & enchanting will certainly be added!

During your journey you will have the ability to select an adventuring partner to keep you company and provide assistance. They will not only engage nearby enemies and assist you in fights that occur in the world, but they can provide insight into the history and lore of this land. While some dungeons do not allow your partner to venture inside, they will still provide a great amount of help with uncovering the story and keeping you alive through the game.  


There are plans for at least 4 possible companions that will join you in your quest. All inactive companions will await you in a specific location so you can change them out as needed. Each will offer their own unique A.I and combat style so choose carefully based on the challenges facing you!

A.I. is one area of the game where we want to focus our attention in order to make the game even better. Most enemies will have a few simple attacks and ways in which they defend themselves. We want the enemies to make decisions in how to engage the player based on observation of the player. If you approach an enemy and focus on piercing attacks the enemy should quickly prioritize its defense to countering your moves. Our plan is to have no enemy that will have abilities set to an exact timer which will lead to a more interesting combat experience. In addition, you as a player will need to recognize your enemies patterns and learn to counter them. We don't want the game to feel like a simple button-mashing exercise!

We know the typical approach to a fantasy game with a mount. Don't mistake us, horses are beautiful and majestic creatures. For our ventures into the Kingdom of Aeldaria however, your mount will be a stunning mystical beast. These Wyrms are raised and bred to be the royal knights steeds and are a status symbol among the kings guard.

If you are mighty & brave enough in your adventure to claim one for yourself, you will find yourself not only the grace and speed of quick travel but also a ferocious ally.

In Memories of Aeldaria there will be specific enemies that only spawn at certain times of day, on certain days, and other combinations that we won't spoil by telling you. These unique monsters can play an important role to those seeking to max out Isabelle's true potential, however killing them all is not a requirement for finishing the story. For those that seek to take these fearsome foes head on, get ready for a challenge!

Crafting in Aeldaria starts with 1 major element: Alchemy. With it, you will be able to craft powerful potions that will assist you on your journey as well as process rare ingredients that will allow you to dye & customize your armor! Most equipment will be obtained via collection, dungeons, & puzzles, however we also have an extended crafting & enchanting system in our reach goals.

We intend to offer multiple difficulty settings for the game: Easy, Normal, & Hard. We realize there may be reasons someone would want a much more casual play experience and still desire to enjoy the full story. 

For those seeking a much more punishing and demanding experience, please look forward to hard mode. Hard mode will not simply be an adjustment of numbers for damage and health but will rather host changes to fights, A.I., and bosses.

Other limitations: We are also aware of the distress that can be caused by puzzles where one may be colorblind. We will be doing our best during development and testing phases to ensure that puzzles are easy to understand visually and will be paying close attention to color coordination. We actually have a colorblind person on staff who will be heavily involved in these particular areas to address potential confusion or unclear direction in these critical situations.

Simply put: Yes! There will be many achievements to earn during gameplay and we will coordinate these with the content platform (Steam, PS4, etc). You can expect a wide array of achievements especially for collection, exploration, completion, & difficulty specific achievements.

    Hopefully by now you can tell: This is not your average Indie game. We have worked diligently for countless hours to very carefully sculpt the foundation of what we want to build. Our dreams do not stop here, however. Memories of Aeldaria is designed to be our first step into building not just a single game, but a universe of lore and other titles we want to develop in the future.

    We want to make a statement in this industry based on what we believe were the rightful pillars of game development for years. These will be our guides for not only Memories of Aeldaria, but every game we develop beyond it:

Risks and challenges

As you know, video games are complex projects. Our management team has a combined 15+ years of experience with time, finance, and team management. We have done everything possible and poured countless hours over the last year and a half exploring every level of preparedness to get to this point. We have taken a lot of time to produce conceptual designs, polish the lore, and get a great foundation of assets and team members to take this journey with working on this most ambitious of titles.

There are some large issues that we could face during our time with the project. Fortunately, we have put a lot of thought and planning to ensure that major potential disruptions already have a contingency plan.

Losing a member during production:
This is always going to be a sad scenario if it arises. However, not all of an individuals funds are paid out at once, and instead are rationed over the course of the project. This way, if someone does need to exit we will still have budgeted funds to complete that area of the project.

Data Loss:
We have a regular local backup, a remote regular backup, and 2 infrequent backups of all data, as well as systems in place to recover accidentally lost major files. We have taken a lot of time to plan our data storage to avoid lost time.

Delays:
In the default scope of the project we have observed the possibility of having production time left past the allotted budget. In this situation there may be a delay in the next entry's release date. . We will continue to develop the project despite the delay to ensure the entire project comes to fruition. We are dedicated to the task of producing this game. We have hope that this title will be the first entry into a new universe and that our fans will help shape the future of Aeldaria.

*Worst-case scenario of receiving base funding but not unlocking both Sagas entries II & III:
We would complete Saga I and then intend to use both the funds raised here and a well-designed share of retail profit from the first entry to fund Saga II to continue development naturally without needing to return to a crowd-funding platform at all.

There are other various risks and challenges we have observed, yet ultimately we believe that we have spent ample time doing research and preparing ourselves to get to this point. We are ready for full productions, and we have a full team of talented individuals ready to devote themselves wholly to our goals and to see this project come to its full potential.
