The Aduri cushion is designed to pick up where pure meditation apps leave off -- and help you achieve consistent calm, clarity, focus and balance from the comfort of your own home.
We believe bringing the physical and digital worlds together is the best way to build a consistent meditation practice to handle whatever the world throws at you.
Since March, the Aduri cushion has been publicly user tested in various retail shops, companies and exhibitions around the country, from NYC to LA and several places in between. After testing and iterating our prototypes with the help of 600+ users, we're so excited that they had such amazing things to say:
Meditation is deceptively simple. You just sit...and sit...and focus on your breath in order to guide your mind and body toward various states of release. The Aduri cushion’s proprietary multi-sensory system integrates with both our original meditation content and your personal biometrics to give you the absolute best personalized meditation guidance. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced meditator, the Aduri cushion is perfect for everyone.
The Aduri cushion is our approach to a connected, multi-sensory meditation experience. The cushion seamlessly integrates with our original meditation audio content and your biometrics to deliver an immersive, personalized experience.
Meditation cushions are tools that have been used in the practice for thousands of years. After many prototypes, we landed on the cushion because of it's ability to provide a space for your practice, give you ergonomic support and seamlessly fit into your home.
Before we began to integrate our technology into the cushion, our first objective was to make the most comfortable meditation cushion ever. We do this by offering precise support in a variety of common seated postures, and encouraging proper posture, with less effort.
The Aduri cushion was designed with a unique molded foam that is dense and soft. The result is an extremely supportive, yet comfy cushion, regardless of sitting position.
Another reason why we went with a cushion is because it is more immersive than something that lives on your wrist, in your hand or in your head.
The Aduri cushion is battery operated, charged by USB-C. The battery will last 14-20 days depending on usage. We've designed the Aduri cushion to last a long time, so when the battery needs to be replaced, you can pop it out and replace it with no fuss.
Our cushion has been designed with sustainability in mind from Day 1. Our fabric uses recycled material from plastic water bottles and foam from recycled sources. We believe this is the only way this (and frankly any product) has to be made, by keeping our environment top of mind.
Our machine washable cover is soft, durable and super easy to clean. Just unzip, slip it off and throw it into your washing machine. When it's done, you can slip it right back on and drop into your next meditation.
The Aduri iOS app has been built from scratch from the ground up by an amazing technical team that has worked on 50+ mobile apps across various industries and sectors, including connected devices. We've written our own communication protocols and channels for data syncing between the physical cushion and the digital iOS app.
Our community and biometrics features are currently in R&D. We should have working versions of those features within a couple months, and definitely in time before we release an early version of the the app for all of our backers.
Over the past 2 months, our content and engineering teams have together planned out the next 6 months of work to develop, test and integrate hours and hours of high quality meditation content that we are excited to to share with you.
We greatly value to the feedback, contributions and ideas that all of you offer to make the absolute best product, because ultimately, that's why we exist.
When we deliver our cushions, the Aduri app will be available for both iOS and Android.

Risks and challenges
Developing new hardware products requires a healthy dose of humility. There are always risks along the journey from prototyping, design, to manufacturing. Knowing this, we have built a team of experienced designers and developers who understand the complexity of manufacturing. To further mitigate risk, we consciously partnered with proven - and scalable - manufacturers in order to make sure our goals are feasible, manufacturable, and deliverable.
It was important to us not to approach the Kickstarter community with a half baked idea. So we did the work. We constantly iterated, and validated all components of the product for over 2.5 years - to make sure that when the time was right, we would be able to deliver.
Our team has proven backgrounds in design, engineering, mobile, media, meditation (obviously!) and entrepreneurship. With this we are able to develop both a qualitative and quantitative framework in how we approached product development. For example, during our extensive user testing of over 600+ users from around the USA, we had an internal team solely dedicated to addressing any bugs in the prototypes.
We still have many challenges ahead of us. When we encounter them, we promise to enlist our tenacity, grit, and start-up mindset to overcome them - all while maintaining a level of transparency that we know the Kickstarter community deserves.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
