What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from. T. S. Eliot
A friend of mine recommended that I put my project on Kickstarter, so I'm really excited about it...
My name is Addy Luna and I've been working as a Mental Health Technician/Aide for the last 13 years at places like kindergartens, day care centers, private clinics and in some private homes; mostly with children who have autism, Down’s syndrome and various motor neurological diseases.
All through the years, I've provided my kids with art supplies out of my own pocket (when it's possible) on the belief that through the world of Art we can help them to improve their emotional intelligence, motor skills and the way they structure their universe. I’ve been collecting these masterpieces one by one, with the sole intention of putting together a book filled with brief Bios, anecdotes and stories that I've been treasuring all these years about my experiences with these endearing children.
A couple of years ago I spoke to an editor about my project and they loved it and want to print it. The problem is that takes money and I have to come up with the initial investment. I’ve been trying to save up the cost since then, but haven’t had as much success as I would have liked. Once the book is out I plan to file for a non-profit corporation and then start a webpage for the foundation with the proceedings, so I can continue helping these wonderful children who are so full of life. And maybe someday, we can even build a small Art School, who knows? That would be my ultimate dream!
My thanks to all of you for listening and sharing in my dream for the future!
