WHY I'M HERE
I have a very real passion and purpose.
I CAN'T DO IT! I JUST CAN'T DO IT, I TELL YOU! I cannot and will not be the person who never followed their dreams, their inner most desires! I refuse to be the person to have regrets when I'm old. "Did I Live?" I plan on that question answered "YES!"
I do know one thing: I can't make my dreams true without help.
I have written some great songs, performed them with an existing killer jazz trio this summer, and captured those performances on a recording which was engineered and mixed by a world class, Grammy nominated engineer/producer. I need your help to finish mixing, mastering, manufacturing and marketing of the next Adam Smale CD, Out of the Blue.
After having the CDs manufactured, the next step is to release the Out of the Blue CD to radio stations in the USA & Canada as well as internet radio stations like Pandora, Slacker, and Spotify. This is such an important step in the right direction to get the music heard.
The musical performances and overall sound quality of this CD is at such a high caliber it can't help but gain recognition in the music industry. My dream has always been to be a well known and respected guitarist, to compose and release original songs, and perform that music around the world. Now with this great platform at Kickstarter, my childhood dreams can come true with help from people all over the world. Please take the time to view all the great rewards offered and claim those rewards by making a donation right now.

HERE'S WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I remember quite vividly the day that I announced to my parents I wanted to be a professional musician. I was 11 years old and I had been playing guitar already for 4 years or so. At the time, the great Chet Atkins was my inspiration.
My parents stood by me and before I knew it, at age 12, I was in the Musicians Union and getting paid to play gigs! I know, right?
Several years later it was rocker, Eddie Van Halen, who was my hero. Man, I was really into his guitar work. To this day I still feel he was a bonafide virtuoso guitarist. Eddie inspired me with his innovative playing and contagious energy.
It was when I was a Van Halen connoisseur, that I discovered jazz in a rather indirect way. Eddie was always going on about this cat from England, Alan Holdsworth. If Ed thought he was the business then I had better check him out.
It brings a tear to my eye thinking of this. One day, my Mother, bless her heart, went out and ordered some Alan Holdsworth cassette tapes to surprise me. I'll never forget the beauty in that for as long as I live.
It was my Mother, who, out of love, brought these 2 cassettes home and set me on the path to really take music seriously. And I love her dearly for it!
As I listened to these tapes, my jaw hit the floor. "Oh my...what is this?" I didn't know music could be so fiery, intricate, advanced, and beautiful at the same time. I couldn't even fathom what I was hearing.
To say the least I was moved! I needed to know what this music was. It was like it came from another planet. I HAD TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING! Thank you for that Mom!
I practiced everything I knew, and then some. I wanted to be good guitarist. No, I wanted to be the person at the top of the heap. I wanted to be amazing. However, I knew I needed help.
So I enlisted myself in college and learned from many great teachers and students. I GOT HOOKED ON JAZZ. I always improvised anyway, so I felt at home. You could carry on a music conversation without words.
And I practiced, and I practiced. And then when I got done practicing I would practice some more. And it hasn't stopped. I try to learn something new everyday.
I urge you to help me in reaching my goal by finishing the "Out of the Blue" CD and by having the music heard by people from Toledo to Tokyo. Make a pledge now to help in getting the momentum needed to make that dream a reality!
With much gratitude,
Thank You for your support!

What This Funding Will Be Used For:
Your involvement and support will complete this CD and get the music out there to be enjoyed. We (you and I) are essentially creating our own record label to release this music.
CD Replication & Printing................$900
My dreams, my desires, are to have me and my music known worldwide. If we are blessed to receive funding over the necessary base amount of $6900 needed, here are some goals that funs will be used to make this project even more successful:
This item is an industry standard, a necessity. Having this will get you taken seriously by the Media, Festivals, Clubs, & Record Labels.
I want to be booked all over the world!
Minimum ($6900) + Level I ($800) = $7700
Promotion to Jazz Journalists.......$1000
Along with grabbing attention with a fantastic Press Kit, the word about me will not be spread around the world unless you promote yourself to the top 300 journalists in the US, Canada, Europe & Asia.
Level I ($7700) + Level II ($1000) = $8700
If I really, really, want to turn some heads, be noticed, a professionally produced Promotional Video is so important. Any "who's who" in the music world has a Promotional Video.
Level II ($8700) + Level III ($3000) = $11,700
The Amazing People Involved:
Tri-Fi is my band. Well, at least on this recording.
Not only are these guys super talented, but they have played together so long they can read each others' minds and play off each other in a very magical way. Their performance on this CD was world class, they made the songs come alive! Plus they are just three of the nicest guys you ever could meet. Bonus.
Then there is my GRAMMY nominated Engineer/Producer, George Walker Petit.
The real thing that sets George apart is the fact that he is a musician first. He brought the best out of us on this recording.
George, acting as producer and/or mixing engineer and/or recording engineer, has also brought the best out of: Terrence Blanchard, Mark Whitfield, Anthony Wilson, Carl Allen, Cyrus Chestnut, Dafnis Prieto, Don Alias, Donny McCaslin, Jeff Ballard, Drew Zingg, TRI-FI, Gene Bertoncini, Hans Glawischnig, Dave Binney, Seamus Blake, Donald Harrison, just to name a few!
Everything fell into place for this recording - exceptional musicians, amazing performances, excellent sound engineering and producing. Perfect timing! It is a thing of beauty. Now, it just needs to be finished and released to the world!

Risks and challenges
This is important! Without YOU, this will not happen. We have to make the goal of $6900 in 30 days, or it won't happen. It's all or nothing. That is Kickstarter's platform.
If all of your amazing support fails to reach the goal, this recording will not get in the hands of jazz fans, jazz radio, and jazz talent buyers. This music is meant to be heard!
I have recorded great songs with amazing people and captured some fantastic performances. I have the drive and the experience to know what it takes to get this CD heard by the important people. Lets do it!
