Production, Project Schedule, and more

Posted by Adam Rehberg (Creator)

Greetings Truck Off backers,

Gears are turning in China with the production of Truck Off.  This is the time during a KS project where it feels like time stands still, but I remind myself that good quality is worth the wait.  I have a few important things to share including the project schedule, a meeting with the manufacturer, and images of the production ready prototype.

A quick note about the project schedule is that it does not reflect any delays.  This is the busy season for board game manufacturers as they wrap up their shipments for releases at Origins / GenCon / Essen.  All fingers are crossed that things go smoothly!

Meeting with Boda Games

I was in China for my day job and was fortunate enough to cross paths with Jeff, the owner of Boda Games!  It wasn't possible to visit his facility, but he was able to bring the production ready prototype that I reviewed for correctness and sizing.  The proto looks amazing and sheesh this compact box is packed full!  We talked through each component one by one, and also agreed on a specific insert design to keep components organized, and final packaging and assembly instructions.  What a treat!

Prototype in Action

Upon return from China, I had a great opportunity to break the prototype out and test the new artwork, diecuts, and component sizing for game-play and hand feel.

@Jim Goss - The Ship is OOCL Tokyo. It looks like it is already docked outside of Los Angeles currently awaiting unloading.

Reaching out now to get a sea vessel to track :). It is out of the Ningbo port just south of Shanghai.

Do we have a ship to track yet?
