Greater Rogue Glory: The Updated Book of Pathfinder Rogues!
Expanding and updating Rogue Glory, the last book you'll ever need on the Pathfinder rogue.
Back in 2012, Drop Dead Studios came onto the Pathfinder scene with a kickstarter for its first-ever book: Rogue Glory. This book was a love letter to the rogue's long tradition beginning in the early days of the hobby and carrying on through the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
Fast-forward a few years and several more kickstarters, and Drop Dead Studios has developed a much more extensive catalogue of books, from the artisan class to the acclaimed new magic system Spheres of Power and even the upcoming campaign setting Skybourne. However, despite it all, Rogue Glory remains one of our favorite and most beloved products, getting acclaim for its new options, its rewrite of the Stealth and trap mechanics, its story, and its breadth of player and GM options. Sure it was full of spelling errors, formatting mistakes, and alphabetizing problems, but it was ours and it worked.
Things have changed now in the Pathfinder world; hybrid classes are now a thing, as well as mythic options, Pathfinder Unchained, and even our own books such as Spheres of Power have entered the scene. We've also changed as a company, growing from a couple of fresh-faced beginners into experienced designers. And so, we felt it was time to revisit this, our first book, and give it a much-needed update.
The original Rogue Glory featured new rules, abilities, archetypes, magic items, skill uses, and more, all built around making the rogue everything it could possibly be. In this, the new expanded edition, we plan not only to revisit the old content and make updates through the lens of greater experience, but also to add to the mechanics to reflect the current state of the game, including options for the Unchained Rogue, integration with our own other products, and even three new rogue hybrid classes, including the Brute (fighter/rogue), the Troubadour (bard/rogue), and the Magician (wizard/rogue).
We've worked hard to give Greater Rogue Glory a new improved look, changing it from black and white to full color and making it much easier to read and reference.
Along with updated mechanics and a new look, this kickstarter is also aiming to fund new, custom pieces of artwork to make the book that much better, improving its look and making it look less like a first book and instead give it the feeling it deserves.
For this project, we're asking for enough money to fund new artwork and content, as well as to do a small print run of the book. As always, if our initial funding goal is met, we have several more pieces of expanded content and improved appearance that we'd love to add to the book if we get the chance.
Despite however many other books we've written and published since then, Rogue Glory will always be close to my heart as being both the first and one of the best books Drop Dead Studios ever did. Check out the rewards to the side, and thank you for giving us the chance to update and expand this book, and give it the kind of treatment it deserves!
Risks and challenges
The new content has been contracted already and the book is in layout. All it needs is new artwork and it is ready to ship. While we can't promise there won't be some delay that will make us miss our Christmas deadline, the books should ship by New Year's Eve at the latest.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
