The facebook generation meets Wall Street. Set in Silicon Valley, three friends set out to revolutionize the stock market.
About the Film:
Market 2.0 chronicles the efforts of three young people who use their talents to effect change in one of the most competitive, exclusive, and influential industries in America: the financial market. Friends since college, Vlad, Nick, and Baiju will try to use the skills and success they earned developing technology for large financial firms to create something for the rest of us: the first app ever that harnesses the power of social media to allow individuals to make trades. While this application has the potential to democratize the market – making the financial industry accessible, understandable, and accountable – it also challenges a powerful industry to be more transparent. Throughout the process, Vlad, Baiju, and Nick will test their friendship as they take on the uncompromising world of East-coast finance, and market a new kind of app.
So much attention is being paid to the strength and sustainability of our economy. When we hear news about financial markets, however, the attention focuses on financial and political elites. Our story isn't about them, it's about you: people with ideas looking to become a force of change through innovation and tenacity. In designing and marketing this app, Vlad, Nick, and Baiju are looking to democratize the financial industry, one investment at a time.
Why We Need You and How the Funds Will Be Used:
What if we could have documented the rise of Facebook, or have seen the inside of 1980’s Wall Street with a camera? What if Steve Jobs had allowed someone to document his process and the rise of Apple? This film has the potential to provide this early access, to pull back the curtain on the process and price of innovation, while educating viewers about the complex and competitive world of financial markets. We want to inspire our audience to be informed, be creative, and be inspired.
We've already begun preliminary filming. Along with some vital equipment and software purchases, your contributions will help provide housing and travel support to the director and assistant as they live and travel with the young entrepreneurs over the next 9 months, filming events as they unfold.
We have an amazing team working on the project.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
While we have already gained full access to our story and have begun preliminary filming, making a film is always a long, expensive affair and carries a great deal of risk.
However, we are a team of experienced filmmakers, and this isn't our first film. We fully understand the hard work, dedication, and funding it will take to see this project through to the big screen.
It is also worth nothing: film festival dates may vary for rewards that include passes to our festival screening.
