Deep Web: the newsgame
* Journalist Toni Díaz and animator Pablo Salvador delve into the depths of the Internet with a newsgame on Deep Web, the final digital frontier. A year of research, interviews with lawyers, hackers, police officers and users has evolved into a 100×100 graphic adventure.Here we divulge the main elements of our newsgame:
Deep Web TV. A lawyer, a policeman, and an advanced computer expert and former hacker offer their views of this underworld, which the reader can verify, among other things, the appearance of the Deep Web and the design of some of its pages and services.
Fish. This is the Deep Web: you cannot trust anything. As an image, the fish paedophile is, of course, not what it seems: innocent on the outside, revolting on the inside. In this adventure the blowfish accompanies the police fish, the money fish and the hacktivist fish. The challenge of the reader: extract as much information as possible.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We know how to write a compelling story and how to investigate in-depth, we've been doing it for years. However blending that with the latest in digital technology is something pretty new for us all. We are aware of that challenge and want to embrace it.
Coordinating big teams of professionals —we are working with at least five different people for each story— and building a solid final piece in a competitive amount of time is also a big challenge. We are learning a lot from this process.
A good management of economic resources when doing independent journalism, so that they are invested in doing an increasingly better publication is definitely the most difficult part of this process. For that we need to create a community of 'sponsors' involved with our philosophy. From starting here.
Acuerdo is developed for any device. In a first stage, our stories will be available on computers and tablets; on a next phase, we'll launch our app for smartphones.
