[AC]2 Gallery Artist gets Fulbright Scholarship
So cool to hear about artists that have shown at [AC]2 succeed in the future. As an undergraduate student at UNM Victoria DeBlassie showed some amazing work here- crafted in a labor-intensive process of various fruit skins. Just learned yesterday that this young artist just got named as a Fulbright Scholar--she is going to Italy to study ancient leather preserving techniques to inform her "peel" art. Kudos to you Victoria!
Launching the careers of young artists, and providing a venue to showcase their expression is one of the most rewarding aspects of [AC]2. Of the 500 artists we've shown many have gone on to be quite successful artists, teachers, and leaders in the arts community locally, nationally and even internationally. We hope to continue to provide that platform to emerging artists and with your help you'll see many more success stories like Victoria's come down the pipe. Bravo to the artists!
