Far in the future, in 3084… Years of intergalactic war have ravaged the starscape…
But peace has finally come. The inhabitants of distant planets and moons are finally free to roam the stars again. Only one destination location in the galaxy still stands...
Welcome to THE STRIP!
THE STRIP is a futuristic travel mag, full of speculative stories of “The Vegas that Was or Could Be!” Intergalactic travelers flock to the ruins of the once-great VEGAS to learn about the ancient culture that lived there, and each story is a special stop on the tour that re-imagines the original city of sin. The tour guides “educated guesses” are a real hoot, and each story is a flashback or historical re-enactment. Part drunk history, part whacked out re-interpretation to please the alien rocket-set.
THE STRIP, A Twisted Vegas Anthology, will be a collection of 100+ pages of weird and warped comics, inspired by the original city of sin, Las Vegas! It is the sixth entry in the Red Stylo Presents anthology series.
Last year, we hit the jackpot with the Harvey Award-nominated The 27 Club. As a follow-up, we’re letting it ride with The Strip! Strange tales from Las Vegas are the theme, in the form of 8-page comics. Creators were asked to draw inspiration from the music, mob, casinos, luck–whatever visions Vegas conjured for them!
Once betting closed, we emerged with eleven short stories that painted a wonderfully warped vision of Las Vegas. The pieces inspired us to turn THE STRIP into a trippy travelogue filled with "What ifs?" and "WTFs?!" Stops along the way include stages where magic is more than an illusion, a slightly off-kilter vision of the future, and the deserts around Vegas where something hungry lurks. The book will be a full-color trade paperback and deluxe digital package. Even tourists from off-planet are flocking to our casinos, so we hope you'll join us on this strange ride!
The Strip marks James McGee's first time behind the editor's desk for the Red Stylo Presents anthology series. James joined Red Stylo as the writer of "Star Crossed" in the Shakespeare Shaken anthology. He went on to stage a hostile takeover under the guise of the evil "Snidley McGee." These days, his alter egos are kinder and gentler, but still snappy dressers. His work has also appeared in Unfashioned Creatures, The 27 Club, This Mutant Life and Fireside Fiction. James lives in West Virginia with his wife, Laura, and an ever-growing army of cats.

Risks and challenges
Making comics is always a gamble, so we're asking you to roll the dice on THE STRIP! The $5000 we’re raising goes toward the actual cost of printing and shipping the book, as well as fulfilling rewards..
Production on THE STRIP is well underway, and will conclude in August. Red Stylo has a proven track record of delivering comic anthologies (just check out our back-catalog!), and we have collaborated with this printer in the past. The quality of their product is OUTSTANDING, and the print order will be placed within days of funding.
While our print order is being run, Red Stylo’s team will prep rewards for shipping, including individual stories and PDFs. Our goal amount covers the cost of printing and shipping books to Red Stylo's warehouse only, but we have chosen rewards and shipping options within our regular production budget for an anthology and the cost of these items has been considered and accounted for.
All rewards will be delivered in November 2017, which makes this book a phenomenal gift idea for the holidays.
This is Red Stylo's sixth anthology, and we have an experienced production team. All of our cards are on the table, and we're convinced we have a winning hand!
The release party for THE STRIP will be held at New York Comic Con in October, where it will be Red Stylo’s featured title.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
