A Soul Divided/ Caged in Flesh: A Jekyll & Hyde Anthology
A double-sided comic anthology inspired by "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde." One side Jekyll, the other side Hyde. Choose!
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Mon, October 1 2018 3:59 AM UTC +00:00.
The seventh Red Stylo Presents book returns to the literary roots of the series. In the tradition of Shakespeare Shaken, Poe Twisted, and Unfashioned Creatures, Harvey-nominated Red Stylo delves into the Victorian gothic with A Soul Divided/Caged In Flesh, an exploration of the dual nature of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
A Soul Divided/Caged In Flesh is a double-sided, dueling collection of stories, with one half inspired by the tortured Dr. Jekyll and the other half entirely devoted to the abominable Mr. Hyde. There is no middle ground! The two halves exist together, each fighting for supremacy, caged tightly in one collection of original works inspired by Stevenson’s horror classic. Over 100+ comic pages, full color, brought to you by over 30 indie-comics artists and writers.
This brand new anthology brings together familiar Red Stylo contributors and new voices. It's scheduled for release as a printed trade paperback (with an expanded digital collection) this October, just in time for New York Comic Con!
You didn't think literature would be easy, did you? For this twisted take, you must:
Don't worry -- you'll get to read both sides no matter what! But, in a diabolical twist, this year’s creators were forced to choose their inspiration-- the evil Hyde or the tortured Jekyll. Which side will win out in the end? Let your contributions do the talking! Every add-on dollar or social media bump for #teamjekyll or #teamhyde gets you closer to some special milestone rewards.
Check the rewards list and add-ons to access prizes only as one side or the other prevails.
Are you #teamjekyll or #teamhyde? Are you fighting against a dark side or frustrated by a society that won't let you be you? We'll keep a running tally here to show who's in the lead. The book is completed and will go to press no matter what, but our writers and artists have a chance to earn more rewards if their side reaches certain goals -- and so do you!

Risks and challenges
The $4300 we’re raising goes toward the actual cost of printing and shipping the book, as well as fulfilling rewards.
Production on our J&H anthology will be completed by the campaign midpoint. Red Stylo has a proven track record of delivering comic anthologies (just check out our back-catalog!), and we have collaborated with this printer in the past. The quality of their product is OUTSTANDING, and the print order will be placed within days of funding.
While our print order is being run, Red Stylo’s team will prep rewards for shipping, including individual stories and PDFs. Our goal amount covers the cost of printing and shipping books to Red Stylo's warehouse only, but we have chosen rewards and shipping options within our regular production budget for an anthology and the cost of these items has been considered and accounted for. We also have an International partner for shipping books, allowing us to charge slightly less than usual for overseas (from us) backers.
All rewards will be delivered in November 2018, which makes this book a phenomenal gift idea for the holidays.
This is Red Stylo's seventh anthology, and we have an experienced production team. There's no one way to make an anthology, but we have a formula that works.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
