About this project
My name is Jim Ether. I'm an artist and I live in Kent, Ohio. I would like very much to create a comic book since I'd never done it before. The name of my comic book is "Creepo".
Creepo will consist of three intertwining stories from three different periods.
The first story line is called "Quamlo" which is the story which revolves the magical characters below.
The second story line is called "Benjamin Franklin Adventures" and features my fictional version of Benjamin Franklin. Good ol' Ben gets himself in a heap of mischief while still being the brilliant man he was. The following panels are a rough example of how the finished comic book will look although I'm sure during the process many new ideas will come to me.
The third story line follows two inept depression era con men named "Creepo and Icky Puss" through their botched schemes.
The goal amount of the campaign here will result in a (roughly) 60 to 70 page book. The book will be printed in the U.S. Trade size (6"x9") with a full color cover and black and white guts. If the campaign goes over the projected goal I have much more of the story to tell as well as two additional story lines which could be added.
The below image is "Barney's Bottle Shop". The image referenced in the video and in the pledges.
Depending on the response to this project, I see the finishing date being around April of 2012. That's when the artwork, posters and printed books will be sent out. There is a potential for it being a little later than that if I run into any snags or quality issues. Whenever it's completed, you have my word that I'll give it my all.
Thank you for reading about my project. I'm really looking forward to exploring the format of the comic book. It's been a dream of mine since I was wee to make a comic book and with your help it can become a reality.
Additionally, the existence of this comic book would give me a reason to go to a Comic Con, something I've always wanted to do as a creator.
I hope you have a pleasant day.
The above video is the record of my last Kickstarter project where over the course of four months I created a yearbook for a fictional school full of students, faculty and staff. I'd like to do something similar with this project to show everyone who's interested in making a comic book of their own all the steps needed to do so. It wouldn't be a DVD, I'd just put it online for people. So that would be part of this as well.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
