These two dogs will help children develop an understanding of character traits through several methods.
It is hoped that children will be able to:
- Look and see pictures of the animals sharing, playing nice, and being friendly. (Visual learners).
- Listen and hear the story being read about these animals being helpful, loyal, and trustworthy. (Auditory learners).
- Develop a solid understanding on the importance of character. (Kinesthetic learners).
- Pay attention to how the dogs behave. (Auditory Digital learners).
- Understand good character versus negative character. (Auditory Digital learners).
- Learn how to have strong character. (Auditory Digital learners).
Leading psychologists like Malcom Gladwell and Daniel Goleman have made strong arguments that success in life is more than a high I.Q. or test scores. Social and emotional intelligence are becoming a better predictor of who’ll be successful.
Character development is important. So, please, pledge support for this book. You’ll get a reward for doing so. See the rewards listed at the right.
Discussion Questions for teachers, therapists, counselors, parents, and group leaders are also included in the back of this book. Several group activity games are also included in the back of the book, too. All of these games and activities focus on promoting character development.
There will also be 15 character trait cards that go along with the book. These cards can be used for many purposes. Teachers, parents, counselors, therapists, and group leaders could use these cards for group discussions and activities. Based on my experiences working with them, children love collecting cards. Some children will just enjoy having these cards!
Danny’s sister, Carrie owns these two dogs. Carrie and her fiancé Matt are also helping with the photography.
Please help this book make the jump from an elusive/ creative visualization into a tangible reality that you can hold and read. Pledge today while it is still fresh on your mind.
Your donations are appreciated.
I hope everyone will have a copy of this book and the 15 trading cards in their hands by the end of Oct. 2010.
