Want to see the new DVD trailer for Tub? Visit: http://TubMovie.com!
I'm moving to LA on June 6th to pursue my silly dream of making movies for a living. I have lived on the East Coast my entire life.
Suffice to say, this is the biggest move of my life. And unfortunately - I just lost my steady job and have become recently unemployed.
In other words, I figure this is probably a good time to start the pre-order of "TUB" on DVD.
ANYWAYS, here's the deal:
I want to make the TUB DVD really special. Packed with lots of features + professionally manufactured. In other words: It won't be a DVD-R with a homemade case, but something that looks pro. Yes, it will even have a UPC code on it! Plus, it will be signed and numbered by my stupid face...which will actually decrease the value of the DVD.
Regardless- in order to make a professional DVD, I have to buy a large quantity of them up front...which means I need cash money. Heyo!
Now to answer your QUESTIONS:
* Is the DVD Region Free?
Yes! It will be able to play in DVD players around the world!
* When will the DVD arrive?
Basically, I am not sure. The DVD is not complete as of now as I'm still adding features, etc. Plus, my life is in upheaval right now with the moving thing.
* So, when will the DVD arrive, jerk?
Probably some time in the summer...or not. But, pre-ordering through this kickstarter pledge GUARANTEES you a copy. Further, I may not sell the DVD on my site for a long time, because I'm unsure if film festivals are into me selling a DVD of it yet. However, if you pledge via kickstarter you will get it as soon as I complete the DVD...whereas the rest of the people outside of this kickstarter pledge drive will have to wait.
* How much?
A $10 pledge gets you the DVD (autographed and numbered) with shipping included. When I sell it on my site it will be $10 + shipping. So, you'll get free shipping if you get it through this kickstarter drive. If you pledge $25 you'll get the DVD and a autographed "TUB" 12x18 inch poster. Shipping included.
You can also pledge over $25. Heck, you can pledge a million dollars if you want. But, it won't really get you anything cool. =(
NOTE: If you live outside of the USA (aka UK etc) you MUST choose the appropriate (higher priced) option! It costs more money to ship outside the US and it's a bit of a pain. But, I want you guys to be able to see it!
* What's on the DVD?
Oh, this is the fun part. Here are SOME of the features I'm working on:
+ Commentary Track(s)
+ Bloopers, Outtakes, Improv Reel
+ Behind the Scenes: Making The Baby with Jeremy Selenfriend
+ My Sundance video diary
+ The Thanksgiving BFX Test Film (A short film that I acted in alongside Eric Levy. This was the film that made me realize I had to finally make TUB and cast Eric in it.)
+ Complete, unedited video interview with GordonandTheWhale.com's Chase Whale at Sundance
+ Deleted Scene with Introduction
+ Behind the Scenes Photo Slide Show with optional, unedited Tim Coyne Hollywood Podcast interview track from Sundance.
+ The original Baby sketches by Cheryl Gross
+ 2 Pitch Trailers (Years ago I tried to get funding from massify.com to make the movie and I made these two ultra low budget pitch trailers)
+ Sundance Trailer
+ AND MORE????
Okay...so maybe this special edition DVD is a TAD silly on the amount of special features it has, considering it's a short film. But, I'm all about giving you as much content as possible for your $$$. So, just take it, darn it!
Our goal is to reach $2000 by June 6th. The day I arrive in LA. This will cover all the upfront expenses of making the DVD and to be frank, allow me to pay my rent next month.
Lastly - thanks so much for your support. I feel like the majority of my creative endeavors have been through grass roots support from people like yourself and that means a heck of a lot to me. I believe, with your support, we can shatter Avatar's home video record.
