Update #3 - Titans Evolution

We've managed to scare up a few more backers over the last couple of days but the campaign is still going at a snail's pace and time is short.  That having been said, Titans of Empyrean is never far from my thoughts and there are a few things that have happened since the last update.

In the first place, Chris Hanson, the co-designer and primary artist of ApocalypZe came up with an interesting idea for movement.  It was tested just once and seemed to work, but I'll be taking a much closer look at it this weekend.  For those of you using the print and play, the idea is that the turn and the move were split into separate actions.  Instead of having to turn and then move (or just move), you can now turn whenever you want (or not).  A move forward is still mandatory.  This was one of those ideas that, when Chris presented it to me, I thought, "there has to be something wrong with it."  But there isn't.  At least, I haven't found anything yet.  For those players who have been feeling constricted by the movement rules, this should award you more of the freedom you've been looking for.

Our Titans of Empyrean artist, Karen Brittany, is working on the 4 titans that are meant for the social stretch goals.  In case anyone's interested they are Horatio the gargoyle, Agatha the harpy, Black Dawn the Cockatrice, and Rivet the Clockwork Titan.  I, for one, am very excited to see what these characters look like.

PAX East is this weekend.  This is our Hail Mary.  We still need about 350 backers in order to fund and that's a really tall order for any campaign this late in the game.  PAX East, though, draws about 40K people and we've got hundreds of Goddard the Phoenix promotional cards and tokens to hand out.  Am I hoping for a miracle?  I think so, but I want you to know that I will be doing my best to bring people to the campaign.  Even if we don't manage to fund on this go around, I want to put the game in front of enough people so that, a few months down the road, a Titans relaunch is a sure success.

As always, you have my gratitude.  My next update will be until after PAX East.
