About this project
Every year since 2009, I have put out a book of art containing my work from the previous year. These books contain finished pencil drawings and several digital paintings, so I decided to call them Yearbooks. The Yearbooks have become my primary vehicle to showcase my art. The books have had traditionally low print runs and most have sold out. I have offered two Yearbooks on Kickstarter. The campaigns were successful, so I am offering the 2016 Yearbook.
The 2016 Yearbook contains all of the art I have produced since the completion of last year’s book. That includes all of the commission drawings from last year’s Kickstarter. The book also includes several digital paintings completed over the past year. 2015 marked a change in my work and 2016 is a continuation of that progression.
As a Kickstarter exclusive, I am offering Into the Jungle as a companion book. I have had a fascination with jungle heroes from an early age. My love of Jungle Girls was an eventual result. With the release of The Jungle Book and Tarzan movies later this year, I thought it would never be more appropriate than now to offer my favorite Jungle Girl drawings in book form. Into the Jungle is available only through this Kickstarter project. These images are collected together for the first time. The book is planned for 48 pages, but may be expanded with a stretch goal.
I am offering a limited number of commissions for this Kickstarter Campaign. Last year, the commission rewards were very popular. I'm very proud of them. These are the only commissions that I will be taking this year. For those of you who have been emailing asking about commissions, here is your chance! Please keep your requests suitable for publication. These will be included in the 2017 Yearbook. Nudity is acceptable, but the image will probably be altered for the book. If you have questions about the subject matter, email first and we can discuss it. Here are last year's commissions.
I am offering a new item this year. Framed Limited Edition prints. These prints are extremely limited to only 8 prints. These canvas giclee prints are 13x19 that arrive framed and ready to hang. Overall dimension is approximately 15x23. They make a great impression without being so large that a large space is required. The prints also come with a Certificate of Authenticity. The prints also come with a signed copy of the 2016 Yearbook.
Another new item this year is 11x17 coloring pages. Ever since I had someone put my artwork on a coloring book cover without my permission, I’ve been asked about an adult coloring book. I looked at them, but just didn’t like the format or paper. I started thinking what I would like in a piece to color. I decided on individual 11x17 sheets of 80lb. white exact Bristol. The 11x17 is standard size and easy to frame. The package is a set of 10 images I think would be fun to color. To keep the cost down, I am not offering a 2016 Yearbook with this package, but it can certainly be added on. If these go well, I will consider another Kickstarter with several packages available.
International shipping has become quite cumbersome. The rates have changed and I want to be fair with everyone. I bought a postal scale and have weighed each of the rewards. Since the rates change from country to country, I have listed the postal rates to all of the countries I shipped to last year. If your country is not listed, send me a note. I will add postage to your country to the reward you would like.
Your support and patronage allow me the time to keep creating artwork. I am very consciously trying to improve my skills. I think it shows in this year's book. Thank you for sharing in my artistic journey. If you are a long time fan, thank you so very much! I've met many of you at conventions. Thank you for taking the time to stop by the table and chat. It is always great to get first hand feedback. I also know a lot of you only through emails. I'd love to get the chance to meet with you one day and say "Thank You!" If you are new to my work, thanks for taking the time to look. I have many more images to view at mitchfoustart.com and mitchfoust.deviantart.com
Please take a look at the Pledge Rewards and see if one suits you. Even if you can't help financially, your help is still very needed. Please share this Kickstarter Campaign with your social media. Word of mouth advertising is the most effective advertising. Social media has made that so much easier. Any help you can give would be most appreciated!
Thank you all so much!
Risks and challenges
The challenges to this project are minimal. I have been shipping artwork a long time and I am used to packing securely. The books are all ready to go to the printer as soon as the Kickstarter project is completed. I have worked with this printer before and know them very well. It will take 3 to 4 weeks to complete the printing process. Of course, there are always challenges that come up during a project, but I have done my homework and am ready for those challenges when they occur.
All pledge amounts include USPS Media Mail shipping within the U.S. Shipping for international orders will receive an additional fee. International orders ship by USPS Priority Mail. Taxes and fees vary by country. Please be aware international orders may be required to pay a duty tax by your local postal station.
