$30,000 and Meet Edwin

Hi everybody,

Last night, we passed the $30,000 level, and our first Over-funding Goal. Immediately, everybody who backed us at a level which provides a copy of the game will also be receiving our SPECIAL EDITION metal-cast First Player Token. Given how often the first player position changes hands, and how important it can be, we wanted to give this item some heft. We are currently finalizing the art for this and should have something to show you before the end of funding.

In addition to that upgrade, we'll also be releasing a print & play version of our first Disaster Looms! minigame, Ricochet Rock Jockeys. RRJ is in the final stages of testing right now, and should be available to download, for free, for everybody, by the end of June.

Upon passing the $30,000 level, we have also unlocked the $55,000 over-fund goal: Early access to a Print & Play version of the next game set in the Disaster Looms! universe, Imminent Doom.

Now, we also had a couple of things that we really wanted to do, but we weren't prepared to promise until we had actually reached the goal: First, for our international friends and backers, we have dropped shipping rates outside the U.S. North American backers outside the U.S. will now only be paying $15 for shipping, and all other backers outside the U.S. will be paying $25.

Second, we have added the 5-6 player expansion to the A La Carte menu for $20. By reaching our first over-fund goal, we can immediately make a first print run of the expansion available to all of our backers at full retail price. This is the same expansion which we will be including for free with every copy of the game as soon as we hit the $40,000 level.

And finally, I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to your very own Personal Positronic Assistant, who will be helping you make your way through the Disaster Looms! manual - Edwin.

Thank you so much for all your support,

Break From Reality Games

@Srynerson You will need to pledge $20 for each copy you want of the 5 & 6 player expansion. This is the FULL expansion.

If we've picked a pledge level where we get multiple copies of a game, would I be correct to assume that we multiply the number of copies by $20 to get the 5 to 6 players expansion for each copy? (E.g., at the $175 pledge level, which includes two copies of the game, we need to pledge an additional $40 to get two copies of the expansion.) Additionally, if that's correct, can those who have pledged at a level with multiple copies of the game just pledge $20 to get a single copy of the expansion or is it necessary to upgrade all copies?

Turns out I just needed to read the full main page again. Apparently it's been updated since I pledged!

I'm unclear how to add the $20 and make it clear that I want the 5-6 player expansion. Where does one find the A La Carte menu?

Sweet, thank you so much for listening and actually finding a way to improve the shipping price! True fan-service! :D

Dan: We considered that, but the 5-6 player expansion is something that we are excited about, and which we wanted to make sure that people got. As we pass higher over-fund goals, we'll be adding more options to the A La Carte menu - which we believe that players excited for the six player game will appreciate.

Forrest: Yes, absolutely! When funding ends, a survey will go up which we will use to collect your shipping information as well as determine what you have purchased from the A La Carte menu. Your total at the end is what matters.

Stephen: So are we! We always wanted Disaster Looms! to be six players, but we are simply not a large enough company at this point to make it cost effective.

So if we purchase the 5-6 player expansion from the A La Carte menu, and then we reach the $40K stretch goal and get it for free anyway, what will happen to the one we purchased? Will we get something extra to compensate for that? I can see us reaching the goal, and then everyone dropping their extra $20, dropping below the goal again. Don't get me wrong, I like that the 5-6 player expansion is an extra option, as this is what I've really been waiting for. But I think you might run into some logistical problems should we hit the stretch goal.

Very happy to see the 5-6 player expansion added to the A La Carte menu!

So as a Canadian backer, since shipping has dropped. Can just add 10 dollars to my pledge for the 5-6 player expansion?
