About this project
Mooseman, made entirely from wood, will be burnt as part of Burning Man's Circle of Regional Effigies (CORE) project.
The Circle of Regional Effigies (or CORE Project) is a collaborative exhibition that will surround the Burning Man in 2011. The first project of its kind in Black Rock City, the CORE project will be comprised of twenty-four effigies, each created by a local outpost of the Regional Network; these effigies will be placed in a circle just outside the main art installation – The Man. The CORE Project will culminate in a coordinated burn event on Thursday night – September 1, 2011, a fitting Rite of Passage to mark our culture's evolution far beyond the bounds of Black Rock City.
Please support this project, as this will further help develop and foster the artisic community in the GTA and the rest of Ontario.
Mooseman will be the first BurnT project to reach the playa, and is the first BurnT large format piece of artwork to make it to Burning Man.
Funding for this project will help with building Mooseman and transporting him to take part in the Burning Man Festival.
