Thank-you all for your amazing continued support. Its been a good week for us, we've smashed through the 2000 backer mark, almost 25% funded, been flying high in the Kicktraq hot 10 and we're a Kickstarter staff pick. We couldn't do it without your support!! Lets keep it going!

Don't forget we have our add-on scheme, so if there is particular item you really want but couldn't afford the tier, now's your chance to add it to your pledge.

New Gameplay Details Video

We've been getting lots of really great questions about the game from you. So we decided to answer them as best we can in this new video. The video goes into more detail about the game play, it talks about:

  • Navigation
  • Asymmetrical Dual Character puzzle solving
  • Narrative and story structure
  • Presentation Techniques
  • Puzzle Example

I really like the sound of this! Can already see myself clicking the "wrong" thing to do, just because I want to know what will happen

@moro: Agreed. The Amazon payment problem really sucks, but still, getting the word out more could still make this happen. And often projects get a peak of interest towards the end that can really turn things around.

HI Simon. It most scenarios it will be possible to recover from a 'wrong choice' in the puzzle sequence. A simple example of this would be accidentally releasing something scary or unfamiliar into the environment that affects Toru's behavior. Removing this would bring things back on track. In other cases you may need to redo the scene e.g. for the 'Boat in the Tree' puzzle (Described in the video) if Sarena is under the boat when it falls that wouldn't be a good idea :)

Gotta get the word out to more people and convince current backers to up their pledges. I sooo want this kickstarter to succeed...the game looks amazing!

Hot 10 on Kicktraq ok, but once you click on the project and see the graphs it doesn't look as good. :-P

When you say "wrong choices" or "interesting/bad consequences".. will you be able to recover from those or can you end up dying or having to redo a bit?

Anyway, your plans for the gameplay do sound really interesting and I'm very much looking forward to it!

      nice environment managment (:

Better still, try to get a post on their board right now, if possible with Japanese translation. This wil attract many new gamers.

Try getting Studio Ghibli to co-promote your game when you release it, if you manage that, the sales figures will probably skyrocket.

I could take or leave pixel hunting. :/ It really depends on how it is done. I do like having inventory items; however, neither of these things are nearly as important (for me) as having well-made puzzles, a good story and a beautiful environment. It's just comes down to personal preference. :) I really like the way Sarina and Toru interact to work through the puzzles!

I love inventory items. I love pixel hunting.
Cause I love old school adventures like the ones you´ve mentioned!! :-)
Without inventory items and stuff riddles will be mostly limited to the screen you are in (doesn´t matter if it´s scrolling or not).
So The Realm will be a short nice casual fun, but nothing compared to the named classics.
      Which is not bad.
But I´m not pledging more money since I´m more into "real adventures".
Good luck! The project needs £8300+ a day to be successful right now!!!!!

Awesome stuff! Really liking the planned interplay between Sarina and Toru :)

    12. Creator Atomhawk Design+Lantern Interactive on May 3, 2013

Indeed there will be more complex puzzles involving Toru and Sarina. These will contain not only more steps (requiring more thinking) but it will be possible to choose the wrong option in the puzzle sequence with interesting consequences. These will include things like a change in Toru's emotional state or something much, much worse !! :)

Sounds nice but I hope there'll be more complex puzzles involving Sarina and Toru. Anyway very nice update and keep up the good work! You rock!
