Chris had a big presentation. Chris had churned through the data. He found an intriguing insight. It could change everything. Chris wanted to cut through the data noise. The right chart would present issues for discussion and force action. Chris knew it was critical to the company bottom line to visualize the data better and tell a clear story. Important stuff was on the line. Chris could do what he has seen everyone do. Slap a default Excel graph onto a PowerPoint slide and hope for the best. Instead, he pulled out his Chart Chooser Cards to find the right way to visualize the data. He wanted everyone to see what he saw. The only way to do that was to have the point stand out.
If you have a great piece of evidence, will it evoke a response? That's the only reason to show a chart. Or do your charts bore and graphs confuse? Don't waste everyone's time and look like a dummy. Chart Chooser cards are simple. They help you choose the best type of chart. During our workshops, we teach the ins and outs of data visualization. We found that by having something tangible in their hands, people worked faster.
A quick shuffle through the deck of Chart Chooser Cards. Choose the type of data to display. Find the card. Make the chart type recommended and present it so that everyone gets the point. If you need a head start or a reminder down the road, we developed the Chart Chooser Card deck to have your back. You get all the benefit of our data visualization trials and errors in a single hand held package.
Chart Chooser Cards cut through the data noise to help you decide which graph type is best and which chart sells your story.
Each chart card shows you the common name of the chart type, a description, a visual example, when it is used, and what type of data set it’s best for.
The chart chooser deck has 51 cards, including 33 chart types organized into 6 data categories to help you quickly sort through the noise:
13 bonus cards help you sort through what people are looking for in data, and how to format your chart.
Infographics make complicated information easily understandable and visually compelling. The use of bright colors, graphs and shapes make it easy for infographics to be remembered by the people.
It is a unique way of presenting information. The clear arrangement of the information will draw every eye to it. The design will fascinate everyone even those who do not have interest in that information.
The best collection of Excel and Tableau templates created by the “Foremost Expert” in “Hacking Excel” - how to make it do what we usually don’t do. Templates are a powerful part of creating charts and graphs that excite your audience. Also a great time saver. They will require only minor tweaks to suit your current purposes and therefore can be applied to different scenarios and reused time and time again.
Risks and challenges
Our recent kickstarter project, Dirty Rhetoric Cards, was a success. However, we learned a lot. The biggest challenge we had was shipping. We have overcome that by only offering Chart Chooser Cards to the US. If we get an inquiry for international shipping, we will be able to better gage shipping cost, time and set the right expectation.
Based on the first project we found the most of our backers wanted the poster. So we were sure to incorporate that in this launch as well.
This launch is suited for everyone, so our biggest risk is high demand. If that happens we will have to bring in some extra hands to help with the packing and shipping.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
