Introducing The Very Good Bra - the world's first zero waste lingerie line with a bra that comes in 24 proper sizes! This lingerie will break down in nature leaving no toxicity.
WHY THE VERY GOOD BRA?
I am obsessed with comfortable, wire free bras, as well as the shame of landfill. I have combined my obsessions to create a super stylish, super comfy lingerie range that is so clean it can literally be buried in the garden at the end of its life!
There is no waste in nature - there is no waste in The Very Good Bra
The average woman owns 9 bras. With around 2 billion women on the planet, that's 18 billion bras headed for landfill!
Can you imagine not having to choose every day between style and comfort, whilst also knowing you are buying products with no carbon footprint?
80% of a product's environmental impact is locked in at design stage, so I've scoured the world for zero waste elastic made from sustainably farmed rubber trees and organic cotton, for organic sewing thread, organic inks, completely compostable packaging, and the cleanest and most sustainably made Tencel to bring you this world first.
All the materials have been sourced, prototypes produced, bras have been washed and worn for 6 months to fine tune fit and support. We have a great factory lined up to manufacture them. I'm ready to go!
Whilst I'm ready to press the button, the materials to make this lingerie range are much more expensive to buy than mainstream products. For example, the elastic costs 100 times more than regular strap elastic. It is only by creating demand for these new products that we can negotiate better pricing with the manufacturers. The bigger brands aren't always prepared to take the risk, but I believe our customers really care about the environment and would prefer to buy a similarly priced, great product with a sustainable back story and these certifications:
For elastic rubber:
For metal components:
However, I need your help to lock in supply of the minimum quantities of materials required for The Very Good Bra, as well as production minimums. By taking part in this campaign, you help fund this first production run and you will be the first to wear the world's first zero-waste bra. I'm beyond excited to prove this can be done and to bring this innovative product to the market, and I thank you for your support.
At launch, we plan to make the following sizes:
10(32) - 16(38) B/C/D/DD/E
A detailed fit guide will be sent to all who pledge when we take your size details, if we reach our goal.
If successful, our first production run will be early August for the first 500 early-bird bras. Our second run will be delivered October 2018.

Risks and challenges
I am absolutely ready to go on this project. I've worked with my factory for over a year to develop the products and am confident we have them right. The factory has manufactured for premium lingerie brands worldwide for over a decade. There's always some risk in buying lingerie online without trying, but the size guide (provided after you pledge) should ensure you get the right fit, and if that doesn't work, we are happy to exchange for another size as long as there is stock available.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
