TUCK BOX | PREMIUM ED. The iconic Pripyat ferris wheel envelops the worn and weathered tuck box in a rasterised CMYK photography artwork. White texts on all sides are embossed to really make the artwork pop. The tuck flap carries a warning of radioactivity as you choose to enter the Zone.
TUCK BOX | LIMITED ED.
A combination of copper pigmented pantones and metal copper foils are used to simulate rust and an iconic artwork that is sure to leave a lasting impression w. the addition of embossing effects. This has never been done before for any other deck (that we know of). The tuck case itself is sturdy and designed with heavily corrosive corners here and there. At the bottom of the artwork the Chernobyl monument with the firemen is represented as a commemorative basis for the artwork.
TUCK BOX | SIDES
For both tucks the left side is indicating the particular deck edition while the right side is showcasing the exact time and day of when the Chernobyl disaster began. Reactor #4, 01:23 AM on April 26 1986.
TUCK BOX | SEALSBoth editions will have tuck seals with highly detailed line art. The seals of the Limited Ed. will be numbered individually to let you know exactly which of the 2,000 decks you got. Both seals have a vintage-like weathered 'feel' to it.
CARDS | PREMIUM ED. Mirrored back design featuring our tribute to the taming of the fire that lasted for days. "1986" go along the center of the design as a reminder of the year it happened. Signs of radioactivity in all four corners. Center banners say "LEST WE FORGET".
CARDS | PREMIUM ED.
The court cards are all real life Zone photography that capture well known locations including the swimming pool, hospital and power plant control room. The 'width of the perspective' hints something about the value of the card.
CARDS | PREMIUM ED.
The values and pips are all 100% custom designed and formed in a color combination often found on the original (now heavily weathered) wall paintings of the Pripyat buildings. The pips represent this notion.
CARDS | LIMITED ED. Mirrored back design representing the iconic Pripyat ferris wheel in a delicate line art. Special sections in the artwork have special ink with copper pigment. Signs of radioactivity in all four corners. Center banners say "LEST WE FORGET".
CARDS | LIMITED ED.
Every court card is a haunting representation of a disaster that should never be forgotten. Thousands of families were evacuated and forced to only bring the essentials with them. The Pripyat amusement park was meant to open on May 1 - only days after the disaster struck!
CARDS | LIMITED ED.
The values and pips are all 100% custom designed and formed in a color combination of deep red, black and 'ukrainian' green. The pips are designed to look a bit time worn.
JOKERS | PREMIUM ED. Premium ed. jokers feature the two 'Shadow Men' that are found as large wall paintings within the center of the exclusion Zone. To us they represent both good and bad feelings, but of course they tell a story that is subject to individual interpretation. We want to immortalise them.
JOKERS | LIMITED ED. Limited ed. jokers feature two well known monuments raised in honor of the lives that were lost, the families affected and the firemen who gave it all in the taming of the fire that lasted for days.
The Chernobyl half and full brick boxes are designed to look time-worn and old. The boxes have coloured interiors and are included automatically if you pledge for 6 or 12 decks.
One side carries the green 'Taming of The Fire' commemorative symbol, while the other side shows the red Pripyat ferris wheel. Fronts and backs have vintage-like photos from the Zone.
Both boxes have the 'Chernobyl Memorial' logo centered in a copper-like CMYK line art, which will be at display on top when the boxes are opened.
The dealer coin is a solid metal coin with a different artwork on each side. Side A features the exact time of the accident and an honourable symbol to pay tribute to those who tamed the fire. Side B represents the iconic Pripyat ferris wheel. As a special offer you can purchase 2 dealers coins for £25 (~36 USD).
An 'uncut' is a double sided sheet of the actual playing cards fresh out of the printer w. cutting marks. One side showing the card backs and the other showing all card fronts from the deck. As a special offer you can purchase any two uncuts for £42 (~60 USD) - it doesn't have to be the same edition. Frames are not included.
Posters fit for frames and any wall. As a special offer you can purchase any 2 posters for £89 (~128 USD). Frames are not included.
The signature will be made with a black sharpie on the upper tuck back, just below the seal. Factory cellophane will be breached unless you specifically tell us otherwise in a private message. Purchasing the Signature Addon covers any and all of the decks in your selected reward. Let us know if you don't want all your decks signed.
To purchase an addon, you must increase your pledge with the indicated value via the "manage my pledge" button while keeping the same reward level. You must then send us a private message for confirmation and specification of your chosen addon(s). Here's a video on how to manage you pledge. If you have any doubts or questions in relation to how addons work you are more than welcome to send us a private message.
The Premium ed. is going to contain information about the disaster and its consequences, while the Limited ed. will be covering the reason for the accident. Combined they will surely serve well as an informative introduction to the theme.

Risks and challenges
Our first two deck projects were funded and fulfilled with excellent reviews from our backers.
This is our third deck project and we have learned and improved a lot since then. Our biggest boon is Nicolai Aarøe taking the role as lead artist for this project, whom you might know from some of the very successful deck projects such as Indictus or Chivalry.
Yet again, we've spent several months researching, designing and testing these decks. However, obstacles can arise unexpectedly. Potential set-backs include production delays, shipping and sourcing issues. That being said, we feel extremely confident in our tested suppliers and the conservative development timeline we've chosen. As experienced project creators, we've brought many complex products to our audience on time and with great feedback.
Please note that Misery Development Ltd. is not responsible for any stolen, lost, unclaimed or destroyed parcels. It is crucial that you enter your address correctly in the survey after the project has ended.
We have much experience with the shipping company, Deutsche Post, and have used them for several years. We have every reason to believe that all rewards will be delivered to you as intended. And if not, we will have every interest in rectifying the situation for everyone. Tracking ID will be applied to select packages.
If the decks do not live up to our intern quality control and pass our condition inspection we will return it to the facility and demand a re-production. If this highly unlikely scenario SHOULD happen, some delay in our fulfilment process is be to expected and we hope for your understanding.
Please note that customs MAY carefully open your deck(s) during shipping and thus break the factory sealing and cellophane. These are random but standard procedure inspections to make sure that your parcel contains what it says on the label. The project budget does not allow us to replace any such inspected decks with new ones, and we hope for your understanding in such event. This happens rarely.
Design and artwork is subject to minor tweaks and updates.
