Help the National Audio Theatre Festivals (NATF), a non-profit organization, produce the FIRST EVER HEAR Now: The Audio Fiction and Arts Festival.
Come celebrate the arts of audio drama, audiobooks, and the spoken word in all its modern manifestations. The National Audio Theatre Festivals (NATF) invites you to be a part of the HEAR Now Festival in Kansas City, Missouri, from June 20th - 23rd, 2013.
From ancient times, we have loved hearing a well-told story, a tall tale, a good yarn. In the old days this communication occurred face-to-face. Today we have a multitude of technological capabilities to reach thousands—even millions—of ears via audiobooks, the Internet, recorded drama, and that old standby, the radio.
is the audio equivalent of a film festival for audio story-telling in
all its forms—live and scripted solo performances, classic and
contemporary radio drama, experimental narrative, and much more. The
Festival, which is the first of its kind in the United States, offers a
multi-faceted program showcasing the many forms of audio fiction and
sound art in theaters and other “listening” venues in the heart of
Kansas City, MO.
The HEAR Now Festival audience experience includes recent developments in audio preservation by showcasing newly restored and archived award-winning audio dramas. Live and recorded programming offer moderated discussions and panels for conversations and the exchange of new ideas – providing an immersive experience in all aspects of the art and craft of audio fiction and sound art story-telling.
