Growing up on Cape Cod I have always been surrounded by talented artist and have always been drawn towards the arts. Throughout my schooling, I have tried many forms of art including painting, printmaking, clay, fashion design, and graphic design. Along with the formal art classes, I have also learned how to crochet, make soaps and candles, and even create cosmetics. Since I have an interest in so many different forms of art I have a hard time sticking to just one. I wanted to create an online gift shop where I could feature my products as well as other local artist products in hope to reach a larger audience. I decided to start online because there is an abundance of art being created and sold where I live and I wanted to spread the creativity further than just our little towns. Seeing as my gift shop is inspired by the ocean and where I live I would like to donate a percentage of my proceeds to help save the ocean as well. I do not have a specific organization in mid at the moment and I am open to your suggestions for wich one to choose!
Risks and challenges
Some risks and challenges are (obviously) cost, as art supplies and starting a business are never cheap. Having products that are liked by others is a challenge because most art is seen and interpreted anyway, you want to be able to create pieces that appeal to many.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
