First let me thank you for being interested in this product, as it means a lot to me and others who have this dream of making our works of horror available to all.
Back in June of last year several Reddit authors came together and discussed the potential of publishing our stories into a book for all to enjoy. We set up a plan to organize an anthology which we felt would interest our fans and began writing stories immediately.
This is an anthology of 50 stories from every state in North America written by the internet’s most well known horror authors including Blair Daniels, S F Barkley, EZ Misery, Grant Hinton, Matt Richardsen, Scott Savino, M.M. Kelley, Nick Botic, J. Speziale, AJ Horvath, Candice Green, Tara Devlin and Tobias Wade and so many more . Each story is told from the perspective of a traveler crossing from the familiar into the unknown.
It will make you never want to leave home again. This project means a lot to me personally as it will be my first attempt at publishing and I am so proud of the quality of the work. It has been professionally edited and prepared for our fans to enjoy. The money being raised is for that purpose, to publish this book and help new and older authors alike get a chance to have their voice heard.
Our budget is as follows:
Ads: $250-500
- Bookfunnel Membership: $20
- Cover design: $250
- Contributing authors paid for their stories at $0.05 a word once book launches.
For a 50,000 word book, that's $2500 (split among all contributing authors and publishers)
- Editing: $0.005/word; for 50,000 words, that's $250
- Interior Design of book/Kindle formatting: $150
-small cushion for unexpected expenses: $400
We want our fans to see we appreciate them as well which is why we made the rewards unique for this project. If successful we want you have something that you can’t replace and can treasure forever.
Risks and challenges
We want to get our product finished in time for spring. As a new publisher I know that crowdfunding can be a risk because I want to give our readers the best product possible. We have researched the rewards and feel that the plan to meet them all should be viable with the funds by the end of June. We want to make this an unforgettable experience so I know a little bit of stress will be involved as a first time project always has the unexpected come up.
