In 2015, ARCA Space Corporation fulfilled the Back To The Future prophecy when, just before the end of the year announced the ArcaBoard, the only hoverboard in the world designed as a commercial product able to fly over any surface.
Revolution In Motion
The ArcaBoard is a machine lifted by 36 high power Electric Ducted Fans (EDFs) with a maximum thrust of 200 kgf (430 lbs). It has a built-in stabilization unit, meaning that ArcaBoard is stable in any condition and is a very safe platform to fly on. You will be able to utilize your phone for control and navigation of the vehicle itself. But for the most intense experience you can turn off the stabilization system and steer the ArcaBoard with your body.

Quick and without any strings attached. The off the box charger will allow you to recharge the ArcaBoard in 6 hours. However, the ArcaDock accessory will bring the onboard batteries to full capacity in 35 minutes, faster than it takes to charge your smartphone or tablet without having to bother with cables.
ArcaBoard represents total freedom of movement, total freedom of travel. A personal vehicle that can move in all possible directions. No longer be confined to roads, rail tracks, land, or water. Go wherever you want, whenever you want.
High Lifting Power
36 Electric Ducted Fans (EDFs) are more than enough to allow an average weight person, up to 110 kg (243 lbs) to unleash their creativity on the ArcaBoard. There are 272 HP at rider's disposal.
We use aerospace grade composite materials to create a very lightweight though stiff and resilient structure, to house the electric motors and batteries. The weight of the composite structure alone, at only 10 kg (22 lbs) is remarkable.
Use your iOS, or Android smartphone to control the ArcaBoard via Bluetooth, with either the stabilization system on or off. When the stabilization system is on you have nothing to do but sit on the ArcaBoard and move the phone from your hand. The ArcaBoard will replicate your hand movements. When the stabilization system is off, you can control only the elevation from your phone.
By using 36 smaller electric ducted fans instead of fewer larger ones, we ensure that the ArcaBoard keeps operating even in the case of multiple motor failures. Each motor is powered by its own set of batteries independently of the other power units creating a multiple redundant system.
ARCABOARD DRONE KICKSTARTER EDITION
Featuring the same beautiful design and technology behind ArcaBoard, this drone will keep you entertained. With an endurance of 8 minutes it is capable of carrying payloads up to 0.2 kg (0.5lb) and can be safely used both indoors and outside. Its composite structure keeps it light but also durable. Unlike other drones, the ArcaBoard Drone can carry objects on top of it.

The onboard lithium polymer batteries can be recharged in 30 minutes using the included charger. The ArcaBoard Drone is controlled with a radio remote, that is included in the box.

What is your money going towards?
We have constructed three ArcaBoard prototypes and are working to implement the production process, sealing agreements with manufacturers from US and China for equipment and parts. Your money will go to the production preparation beside the funds that we have already secured from investors, and from already selling the ArcaBoard to various customers from around the world.
The production preparation means:
- Completing the tests with the ArcaBoard prototypes already built.
- Building the molds for components, including the Electric Ducted Fan (EDF) housing, the EDF propellers, and the battery enclosures.
- Casting the ArcaBoard airframe itself.
- Building three new pre-series prototypes called ArcaBoard P1, P2, and P3.
- Completing the tests with the pre-series prototypes.
Risks and challenges
ARCA Space Corporation has 16 years of experience of design, fabrication and operation of large scale aerospace programs. However, there are always risks in not being able to complete the product and rewards with the initially required specifications and keeping the schedule. These things happen, no matter how experienced a team is. This could happen for the ArcaBoard as well. ArcaBoard is a flying machine that was already developed to an advanced stage. Now, it is only about refining the adopted technical solutions to complete the job. The biggest investment was done, now it is about completion.
Down the road, if the team will find that the ArcaBoard is not possible to be completed as initially designed, the team will analyze and implement alternative solutions. These could impact the schedule, or not if we decide to allocate more human resources and funding. Regardless of this, the ArcaBoard program will continue because everything is about compromises between meeting the specifications and keeping the schedule with the allocated resources. We are very good engineers and we know what we can do. Look at our history and you’ll see that we are able to handle extremely large, complex, and expensive aerospace programs.
