As someone who's always struggled to eat healthy, especially in today's "on the go" world, I always felt like healthy meant sacrifice, which meant no fun. What if that wasn't the case?
I created Saladshots for people like me, people who enjoyed their comfort foods, but still wanted to maintain a healthy, low fat lifestyle. I believed that we could actually encourage adults and kids to eat more salads and veggies anytime, anywhere, while making healthy eating fun.
Saladshots can really make a difference, and our concept is already resonating on a national level since we launched our Kickstarter campaign. In fact, we've actually recently passed our target goal. But this doesn't mean we want to stop there.
We have 24 hours left and would love as many supporters as possible. All pledges will absolutely help us to climb higher above and beyond our initial target goal.

I brought together an amazing team of passionate creators and scientists to bring Saladshots and our dressings to life. We focused on key aspects like tasting amazing, while being natural, low fat, and low sodium, with important anti-oxidant add-ins like Vitamin C and E taken into consideration. Not to mention we're 2 points and under (mainly at 1) on the Weight Watchers Points Plus scale.
We also wanted to capture the essence of some of the flavors we love the most. An example is Chocolate Chip... It's not chocolate sauce. It's a chocolate cranberry balsamic that goes well with kale, broccoli, a range of lettuces, and various toppings like nuts, croutons, and raisins. Mac n' Cheese is a delicious cheesy low fat ranch dressing that is amazing with a range of veggies.
Furthermore, our dressings range from 40 to 65 calories per serving, with our ranch being the highest -- so really low calorie relative to what is out there. We use no trans fats or saturated fats, are completely low fat and we even have a fat free dressing -- Pomegranate. We are low sodium, gluten free, kosher, and only use agave as a sweetener.

We certainly had fun making our dressings. We sourced the finest natural ingredients from across the US in a thorough search to develop the most original and exciting flavors and textures we could. We are passionate about doing this naturally without added fat, sugar, or sodium, and use Organic and Non-GMO whenever possible.
Then we packaged our dressings in the most cutting edge, portable, no mess, re-sealable, shelf-stable pouch that we could find. Something for your purse, lunch box, backpack, gym bag or briefcase. However you travel, Saladshots can go with you. It is mobile health "on-the-go" with a twist!

What began as an exciting exploration, became a labor of love for all of us. We all are excited about the possibilities!
I have a passion to make the world a better place to live. This passion, combined with my ability to “think outside the box”, developed as an entrepreneur, has led me to create Saladshots. I have both an MBA from Oxford and an MFA from USC film school. Most importantly I feel that life is really dull without FUN!
Jerry wants to do things that matter. He is a successful marketing executive who has helped many brands to become category leaders including Hansen’s Sodas, Corona Beer, Pacifico, and Kinko’s. Jerry loves to sail, and believes FUN is an important element in life.
Matt believes in positivity, and is the consummate “mad scientist” in the kitchen. If you can think it, he can create it. He’s a seasoned chef with experience designing sauces and menus internationally. For Matt, being in the kitchen is all about FUN, culminating in the dressings we make.
Christy just wants to help. She is a food industry professional with 15 years of experience in the areas of product & process development, quality, and food laws & regulations. She is a big fan of roller coasters, which is part of her FUN outlook on life.
Mike doesn't believe in the word -- "can't". He brings over 35 years of experience developing national distribution networks and large scale sales organization teams in the food & beverage category. Mike believes FUN is the key to enjoying life.
Koren and Josh believe we can all impact the world. They have developed designs for leading brands including Coca Cola, Mattel, Coffee Bean, and many others. The two laugh a lot when working together, with FUN at the core.
Saladshots will enter the market with six initial dressing flavors sold as 2.5 oz. on-the-go servings (retail -- just under $2), single flavor six packs, and looking ahead as variety six packs, all available in unique packaging that offers a better and easier consumer experience.
Saladshots anticipates strong growth out of the gate, focused both on an online and in-store regional and national sales approach. We will support our products through targeted demos, marketing, and public relations.

A Bigger Mission
All that being said, while we strive to create a strong and unique brand, our ultimate goal is to get more people eating healthy. As we grow, Saladshots wants to play an active role in encouraging more adults and kids that healthy food can taste good, and that you can eat healthy everywhere.
It's a great privilege and opportunity for us to play a role in improving the quality of life for as many as we can, and we plan to do so. Not just through growth but through donations of salad bars and dressings to schools, community centers, and other socially positive venues with limited resources.
We’ve reached the point where we’re ready to execute our plans, but don’t have the requisite resources to do so. This is a big idea, and it’s going to take a large amount of resources to make it happen, but it’s also a step-by-step model.
Kickstarter would allow us to take the final big step toward manufacturing and bringing our products to market.

- Costs of our co-packer partners including labor and raw ingredients.

Once we are in the market, we will be able to begin generating revenues, which will help us to prepare for a much larger professional fundraise to take Saladshots national.
