Here is a song entitled ALL I KNOW NOW from the upcoming CD! Enjoy.
Here's another new one:
JOIN DOUG BLUMER AND THE BOHEMIAN HIGHWAY ON A MUSICAL JOURNEY
Since the band came together in 2010, we’ve enjoyed bringing original, acoustic Americana music to audiences throughout Northern California.
And we appreciate all the great feedback we’ve heard from all our fans. You say lots of nice things about the songwriting, the arrangements and the harmonies, but what we hear most from you is...
“You guys ought to put out a CD.” We couldn’t agree more.
Now, you can help us reach our goal of completing and releasing our new album in 2014 by participating in our Kickstarter campaign.
HOW DOES KICKSTARTER WORK?
Kickstarter provides us with a way of raising funds to produce our album and gives you a way to contribute directly to the music that you love. As technology has radically changed the music industry, the old model of record labels, distributors, and retailers has given way to a do-it-yourself culture where musicians rely on their fan base to support their efforts.
DEADLINE TO PARTCIPATE 03/16/14
The campaign is active for 30 days.
During that time, we’re aiming to raise $7,500.
While that may seem like a lot of money, it’s really the minimum for producing a broadcast quality CD.This project represents a commitment to ourselves and to our supporters, and we want to put out the absolute best CD we can with this budget.
All tracks have already been recorded. Grammy-nominated recording engineer Michael Romanowski is mixing, mastering, and co-producing the album. The funds cover this part of the process, as well as the design, printing, and production of the final CDs and packaging.
The money raised from this campaign will also pay for distribution, promotion, and related merchandise.
As mentioned above, the Kickstarter campaign is active for only 30 days.
If we fail to reach our goal, we receive no funds at all and go back to square one (any contributions that have been pledged to that point will not be charged to your credit card).
We’re really proud of the songs and arrangements we’ve recorded and we’re very encouraged by the kind words and support we’ve received from all of you so far. But we need your help to get our music out there and see where the Bohemian Highway will takes us.
Hey, you always wanted to get into the music business – here’s your chance. Select any level to contribute and see how we’ll reward your generosity.
NOTES ON THE RECORDING PROJECT
It started with a conversation between Doug and Michael of Coast Recorders in San Francisco. They both wanted to make a record that reflected their musical passions for well-crafted lyrics, original, yet memorable melodies, acoustic guitars and a 70s pop vibe. They brought together Doug’s extensive experience as a singer, songwriter, bandleader, and guitarist, and Michael’s nationally recognized accomplishments as a recording and mastering engineer, with a commitment to creating a record that has a cohesive sound throughout all the tracks.
A bonus track, “The New Birthday Song”, will be included on the album. Doug’s modern day birthday classic has gained tremendous popularity throughout the Bay Area and Sonoma County.
MORE ABOUT DOUG BLUMER AND THE BOHEMIAN HIGHWAY
After living in San Francisco’s North Beach for 20 years, Doug Blumer and wife/songwriting partner Nancy Irish moved to the bucolic hills and dales of Sebastopol. The West County lifestyle has inspired them to create and share beautiful songs about the universal themes in life – love, heartbreak, joy, sorrow, rainy days, and throwing a damn fine party.
Their musical exploration of Sonoma County led them to Jane and Kent Fossgreen, another couple who make music a central part of their lives. Together, they combine a wide array of musical experiences and skills, and they all share a love of connecting with people through music.

Risks and challenges
The songs are already recorded. And the album is going to be beautiful.
But It will require more funding to mix, master, manufacture, distribute and promote the CD.
It will also be a challenge to find the right conduits to maximize our exposure to the musical community and marketplace.
We have surrounded ourselves with industry professionals and we feel confident that our album will meet and exceed expectations.
