Friends and supporters -

Thank you so much for all your patience and for the kind words I received from so many of you on my recent graduation from the Parsons MFA Design and Technology program.

As many of you know, the crazy process that is art school led me far afield from the IMB - indeed I actually ended up doing a one-man play featuring a "computerized" version of my personality created in C++ and openFrameworks as my thesis. We will be remounting the show off-Broadway early in 2013. You can learn more about it and keep up to date at www.theimitationgame.net.

As great as that experience was, it further hindered me from wrapping up the last loose ends on IMB. Over the past week or so, I've thankfully been able to update the arduino code to work perfectly with the new 1.0 release (greatly cutting down latency as a side benefit), as well as putting some bandaids on the java-based code I use to get the arduino to talk to the computer to ensure it continues working in Lion for Mac and beyond. Now that I have some free time, I will be rewriting this from scratch in C++ to make sure that it is Mountain Lion/Windows 8 compatible. I will also be attempting to source a good open source trumpet and trombone sample so the complete package will be usable without having to upgrade to a higher-end audio editing solution.

I know there are a few of you still waiting for your instruments. In some cases, this is b/c they were returned to me by the shipper; in others it is b/c I have not received your shipping info. If you are missing ANYTHING at all, or have any questions, please get in touch ASAP and I will get your instruments shipped to you.

Again, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your support, encouragement and patience and I apologize for any messages that may have slipped through the cracks during the absolutely insane blur that has been the past few months for me and for how much longer the hand-manufacturing process has taken than initially anticipated.

I hope that those of you who have received your instruments (and that should be the vast majority of you) are enjoying your one-of-a-kind objects (100% made here in Brooklyn and 97% made by yours truly - boy did I learn how to sew by hand for this one!) and I look forward to hearing your feedback and seeing how you use the instruments!

Hope you are having a wonderful summer so far and I look forward to hearing from you soon,

scott
