Frequently Asked Questions
You can add any models you wish to your reward via option "Manage your pledge" by adjusting the sum of pledge in your reward tier.
To do this, simply add the cost of the model to the cost of models in your pledge with an additional costs for shipping fee for the additional model/models you might choose. You can indicate all the models you pledged for in the survey after the campaign in the Kickstarter questionnaire.
Please notice that the shipping cost will vary depending on the add-ons you add. To find out the shipping fee, please use the online Ugears Calculator or sum up the weight of the models in your pledge, including add-ons, and find the corresponding value in the “Shipping fee” table in the Campaign section of the project.
To make the math easier you can use the Ugears online calculator that we created for this campaign. The Ugears calculator link is placed above and under “The Shipping Fee” table in the Campaign section the project
the Ugears online calculator: https://ugearsmodels.com/kickstarter5/
the Algorithm is as follows
Step 1 from 3. Select your reward tier (for example, the V-Express Train with Tender model)
Step 2 from 3. Select your Add-Ons (the Horse-Mechanoid)
Step 3 from 3. Select your country or region
and you can see the models you have chosen (the reward and the add-on = the Horse-Mechanoid)
Amount for your pledge (cost of two models)
Shipping fee for the V-Express Train with Tender model and the Horse-Mechanoid.
and Total sum of pledge (inc. shipping fee) == X
Step 4. Final. In your pledge " V-Express Train with Tender" you can see the cost of the V-Express Train with Tender model reward = $54 and the shipping fee for the Horse-Mechanoid model for your country and the total sum of your pledge. == Y
Press button " Manage your pledge" at the upper part of the project page -->Press a button " Change your pledge" and simply adjust the sum of your pledge so that X (got with online Calculator) =Y (inc. shipping fee)
You can use this algorithm for any combination of models you might choose.Last updated:

The quality of the details is very high – the parts of the models are outlined with a CNC laser cutter on a plywood board. The details have to be pulled out of the boards and assembled to create a complete model. You need neither glue, nor any special tools. Follow the detailed step-by-step illustrated manual with instructions in 11 languages (Ukrainian, English, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Italian, Chinese and Korean) to complete your model.Last updated:
We definitely can say that a child of 14 years old can assemble our models. Sometimes he will need parents’ help. Our mission is to unite children and their parents making real thing togetherLast updated:
Many of you would like to customize your Ugears models: paint or even to put a finish on it. The Ugears models are made of natural high grade three-layered plywood boards which are already polished with #100 abrasive paper. It is important to take into account that coloring will impede the mobility of the movable details – so we recommend to avoid coloring moving parts. Basically you can apply everything (stain, lacquer, paint...) except wood veneer. We recommend to put a finish/paint on the Ugears models after the assembly. Even in the very beginning of the assembly you will have left-over parts - so you can test the color/type of wood stain on it and choose the best coloring option. Also you can paint Ugears models. We recommend to use watercolor paints, gouache or wood stain.Last updated:
