*** UPDATE ***
I've been adding scenes from Prague to my fine art gallery. Be sure to check it out here.
After losing my husband and business partner, Jeff, at the age of 43, after 23 years together, I’m embarking on an international journey to bring our documentary voice to creating meaningful photographic art and a new direction for my studio. I am calling this journey Vida Passport. It’s my opportunity to kickstart Chapter Two of my life and create meaningful art for others along the way.
What will I being doing? Thanks for asking!
- I am going on an international photography sabbatical starting with three cities in three months: Prague, Berlin, & Split (Croatia).
- At the end of those three months, I hope to extend for another three months to Serbia, Portugal & Morocco. I will be telling the stories of small businesses and interesting people through editorial, commercial, and fine art photography as well as writing. Follow along at www.vidapassport.com and www.instagram/vidapassport .
- But honestly, I will be building my new voice as a young widow and artist, taking La Vida Creations in a brand new direction, while honoring the beautiful life that I built with Jeff and the legacy he left behind in his photographic talents.
Looking back at what Jeff and I created over a decade in our business, I recognized a common thread in our body of work: capturing the most important moments in our clients’ lives. This is the core of what made me fall in love with photography. In my new normal, I’m learning to find the beauty in life’s everyday moments because everything can change in a heartbeat, and it could all be gone tomorrow.
I'm bringing this new perspective to the next chapter of La Vida, expanding that fascination with people and life’s moments into commercial and editorial work. This adventure I'm embarking on will help me build a portfolio reflecting this new passion and, along the way, I'll be capturing stories of everyday life in a new city each month, creating fine art pieces for you.
Viva la vida. Don’t waste a single moment.
Join me on the journey!
Risks and challenges
I am very committed to this project of personal and professional growth as I create a new catalog of work and concentrate on my creative development. Although I don't foresee letting anything get in my way, I suppose there is always a risk of becoming ill or injured, which would complicate or compromise my plans for this trip. If something were to happen like that (God forbid), then your backing would be returned if I was unable to fulfill my obligations.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
