Restructuring in the order of Stretch Goals

Dear backers,

We have changed the order of Stretch Goals. Since the expansion modules are the most important and valuable upgrades for the game, we decided to bring all of them forward so that they can be unlocked the soonest. We’ll get to the other Stretch Goals once all the expansions are surely added to your box.

This is the first step in our campaign changes. The shipping table and the retailer pledge are also coming up and we hold very high hopes that in a few days we can make you a very attractive and motivating offer for the language packages as well.

We’re working for you and we’d really like to give you EVERYTHING we put in Cultistorm with a lot of work and passion. We hope that we can convince you to back our project.

Thank you for trusting us!

I still think the base pledge contains to many none game related items. I dont really need or want a book, relief box or album. These should be optional or part of an all-in pledge. You have so many stretch goals that you should consider making some of them add-ons you can buy.

I agree that restructuring the campaign and having the expansions as add-ons is a good idea. Having essentially only one pledge level is probably hurting you. $140 as an entry point is rather high for any board game, much less one run by a company that has not yet produced a game (at least on kickstarter). That will scare off a lot of potential backers. Having a lower price to entry with more add-ons will give people the option to mix and match. And once you have them backing at the base price they can read the updates, they are more likely to get excited about the game and upgrade their pledge throughout the campaign as it picks up steam or after the campaign in the pledge manager. Then you could have an all in pledge with all add-ons at a reduced cost overall is great incentive for people to buy. Honestly, the way the campaign is structured now, there are enough stretch goals in the second wave for an entire capaign alone if you pepper in a few component updgrades (like card thickness, finish, etc) throughout the bonus content you'll be set. Another viable option for the additional languages is to offer them digitally initially and in print as stretch goals.

I understand that restructuring would be logistically very difficult, but if you did, you might be able to re-launch at a time better time of the year too. You may reach the initial funding goal and make the base at your high levels of quality that it looks like it will be, but it still won’t be the complete game that you planned. Whether you restructure or not, you are running a big risk, and it is yours as a creator. But we as backers want to see this game become a reality too, so please take no offense in our criticisms.

While I also have both doubts and hopes that we'll reach the dizzying heights you're hoping for, the only thing I'd really ask is if you might consider swapping Serena Higgins and Stephen Dawson. The base game only offers two female characters as it is, so having our all-of-third possible woman out of 10 potential characters be the *very last choice* is just insult on injury.

But overall, good luck! Still hoping for the best. The game does look really cool. And if worries are right and we fund the base game but not the expansions, there have been a lot of "second run" Kickstarters that START with the expansion material, while offering another chance to people who missed their chance to get the base game, and maybe something like that will make sense here?

Or maybe you'll get a million dollars. Kicktraq seems to think it's on the table. The languages do worry me, though -- I can see a lot of pledges dropping out at the very end if a particular language isn't going to happen, and that could really cascade quickly.

I'm with Caroline G, here. There's an expansion included with the core game that has 10 investigator cards, but there are only six investigators. As it stands, we have to almost TRIPLE what this campaign has earned right now in order to unlock the first one and won't get the last until we're at nearly a million.

Lofty goals are great and I applaud your optimism, but I don't think I can suspend disbelief this far. I'm not going to cancel my pledge, I want to see this project succeed--I love the game!

In case the Expansions remain unlocked, it would be great if you could just make them available as seperate Add-ons and/or bundle :)
That might also propell the campaign toward other goals ^^
If you restart I will be with you again. This so suits my genre of games! :)

Still we have heavy in this campaign...but it is possible now. Thank you for update...600K will be really possible to earn...good luck

I'm happy to hear this change. I really hope and believe that You'll reach all the goals, but to be honest I prefer to get as many expansions as possible.

I am quite happy with this change - and with not getting boxes for every expansion too - if it all fits into the great box we really don´t need the extra boxes imo :-)
If we can reach some of the expansions this way it would be great - the soundtrack is something that we will never use but being only full coop players every stretchgoal adds a lot for us

Good move. I think it's wise to focus on the expansions first. Still think the goal values are far too high but wish you all the luck in getting more pledges. I'm keeping an eye on this with hope but as i've said before, i really wanted the physical expansion boxes to be given to backers, as shown (and as they would be in retail), so have to back out for now.

This looks promising. Its a good step in the right direction. I think given time (considering we are already past 200k) those are reasonable stretch goals. Thank you for taking our comments into consideration and look forward to the next update.

      Ohh no! :(

I am REALLY sorry that I've to say this, but seeing these stretch goals... If you seriously think you will pass 350K, you're too naive. I will already be surprised if you pass 300K.

I am not saying that you should give these for free, but maybe cancel the campaign, restructure, and offer these as addons.

First have the base game backed, then go with the expansions.
